[ hyuna // krystal ]
Krystal and Hyuna had been friends, long before Krystal’s own world had shattered around her, leaving her a mess, leaving her a pile of broken pieces. It was before they had realized that there were sides in this world, before they realized that they were living in dreams.
But it was exactly that, dreams.
When Krystal became a Firefly, she was no longer drifting aimlessly in that dream- she had chosen a side and had woken up; she wasn’t neutral anymore. By becoming a Firefly, Krystal was able to witness firsthand why exactly the word ‘Military’ shook people to their very core.
Her mentors, her superiors, had told her to be careful of those in the military, no matter how young and how close she was with them. After all, they were still Military, and Military was bad news.
But Krystal owed Hyuna more than that. They had been there and saved each other more times that she could count.
Perhaps Hyuna felt it too, felt that both of them were growing up, and that they now had responsibilities.
Their relationship was distant now, but they still cared for the other. It was shown in the little deeds, in the worried looks they shot each other after a horde had chased them, after one of them had gotten wounded.
Krystal sighed, scolding herself for getting lost in her thoughts again. They were supposed to be scavenging, finding supplies, anything really.
“Hyuna, do you think this granola bar is still worth eating?” Krystal held up a lone granola bar she had found hidden behind empty boxes.
