The day was ending.
It was usually easier to escape from the Military District at this time and at least to her. Some scientists needed to collect some herbs for their chemical experiments in a field outside of the walls. This process usually took only half an hour, so they didn’t need anyone to come with them. They were valued to the Government because of what they represented – the possibility to find the cure for the plague and possible only escape for the humanity.
Sana was one of those courageous scientists. Daughter of doctors and scientists, she grew in a hospital for patients with mental problems. It was owned by her family and they stayed there for a year or so, after the infection arrived at South Korea. It had been the Government who took them from there and forced them to come to their District, where they were safe. Or at least that was what they claimed at the time, because Sana had always suspected that they had wanted their mother to work at their laboratory since the beginning. That had been the reason why they took them from their ‘home’.
Even working in a laboratory during the day, the young woman had never been satisfied with what she had. Minatozaki Sana had always wanted to have more than what she archived through the years. That was exactly why she started to use her talent and synthetized drugs and rare medications in her mother’s secret laboratory. In the beginning, Sana had only a couple of costumers but the business grew and now, she was starting to sell outside of the Military District too. Trading with the source of her items was always being ‘expensive’ and that was exactly why she was trying the art of smuggling now too.
Everything seemed to be working perfectly well for now, but until when?
Grabbing a black backpack with everything she was going to need, Sana left her house. She only gave her brother a smile to let him know that Sana wasn’t going to stay out for too long and that she was safe. Her weapons were always with her anyway. She had never been the careless type of person.
Even if she didn’t need any special herb to use in the laboratory, she needed to collect some poisonous plants from a field outside of the district. Her day wasn’t going to end there, because she still had a costumer waiting for her too. Not wanting to lose time, she walked toward the walls sneakily. Looking over her shoulder, she hoped that nobody (familiar to her) was watching her. The corners of her lips curved into a smile when she concluded that nobody was there. The man gave her the signal to pass through the walls, warning her that she had half an hour to come back.
Sana was familiar with the procedure, but this was going to take less than half an hour to her.
