My vote went to King K. Rool. He seriously needs a comeback somehow.

He’s a very popular vote from what I’ve seen. The DK franchise is certain big enough to arguably deserve another spot.

To add to that Smash Run stage boss rumor about Kraid, I heard another rumored boss is "a big Kremling." Perhaps K. Rool or an even bigger Kremling we know of?

I heard that rumor as well.  Any streamers run into it?

The DLC thing crossed my mind mostly because of the Ice Climbers. If they couldn't work on a normal 3DS, maybe the New one has the power to handle them?

Perhaps. Though if that WERE to happen, it probably won’t happen for some time. Doubt that Sakurai and his team had use of a New 3DS development kit.

Do you think the 3DS version could eventually get DLC exclusive to the New 3DS that has content the game couldn't handle on a regular 3DS? ...Or is that not how DLC programming can work?

I suppose it’s theoretically possible, but I highly doubt that the extra processing power is needed to handle some DLC characters or something.
