TMA20 got me like this:

On a more serious note, I feel pity for Father Edwin, he was manipulated by another person(?) and then took all the measures necesary to avoid being a danger to others. "Person(?)" because I don't think the thing that's giving him hallucinations has the capacity to hold a knife and chop the face of two people. It kinda sounded like something incorporeal in E19.
I also think I noticed the parallel between the house in E20 and the apartment in E2, both being empty but the people implied not realising.
The funniest thing they could do now is making that goth guy Gerry appear in the next episode. I'll buy myself a treat if he does.

Thoughts on MAG 19 & MAG 20.
As far as horror storytelling goes, Father Burroughs' statement is still, for me, the scariest and most upsetting story in the archives. The way he started out trying to help someone and just ended up completely dismantled and destroyed, his sense of reality gone, horrible visceral crimes attributed to him that he has absolutely no memory of committing, the world believing he's all the things that he would have always considered abhorrent. And there's no respite, not even for a moment. Even solitude isn't safe.
The really upsetting bit I always think about is the image of him being in prison and his former colleagues coming to comfort or counsel him but all he can hear every time they open their mouth is the liturgical bell from the distorted Eucharistic service he was hallucinating while unknowingly eating those poor people.
I was raised Catholic and every little detail about this episode was absolutely spot on, to the point where I could practically smell the scent of incense and old damp chapel buildings. The whole story was just this slow, unfolding, dreamlike horror that tapped into the exact sense of every weird and specific childhood religious fear I grew up with.
I still think about that episode a lot. That calibre of storytelling is such a rare gift, just words and a voice painting something so vivid and immersive that you feel as though you're standing watching it all.
Anyway, I hope Father Burroughs is getting on ok in the apocalypse.
