im feral thinking abt an au where jon n martin meet when martin is working in the library n jon is a researcher but they also meet much earlier, when martin is first working at the institute and jon paid a visit to their library just for funsies and meets martin

now, my teenage martin is um... a very interesting one. i love to make him as chaotic and feral as possible, it's what i do to my favs, therefore let me paint you this picture of an 18 year old martin:

shorter than adult martin but still tall, easy 190 cm, fading cotton candy pink hair dye, height of his depression, mostly dark clothes tho he's using some color here n there, and doesnt smile, not because he doesnt want to, but because he cant muster up the energy to do so

jon, unable to pursue his true goth nature because of his grandma and totally plans on dying his hair jet black as soon as he steps foot into a college campus, looks at martin n goes "omg what a freak... cool", and martin is holding some poetry book he read before much to his dismay and without warning starts to rant abt it, quietly cuz its still a library yk, n martin just. stares. but is clearly paying attention and nodding and humming as jon goes ham on this poor poetry book, all the while jon's wringing his hands and pulling his sleeves n messing with his hair cuz omg?? why is he talking?? n why cant he stop?? what.

he finishes n martin just goes "i actually rly like this book, its on of my favs-" and jon wants to unalive but martin keeps going "but you have a nice voice, so." and then doesnt elaborate. and i hc jon as trans so when i tell you my boy was ELATED and from then on they become unlikely friends

and chaos ensues, because ofc it does, its jmart

i have a lot of AUs that make zero sense when you look at canon, and tbh thats quite the point of them!!

so anyways we all know that martin has been working at the archives since he was 18, right? 10 years of gertrude robinson shenanigans that he probs never saw cuz he was in the library. yknow who else was around? gerard keay

imagine. bby martin, 18, who very much doesnt give a shit abt anything tbh, especially not himself, climbs atop a local library he likes (which is illegal but he doesnt care, hes chilling alright), working other jobs alongside the institute to pay for his mum's care and himself, stressed af, also still very much a teenager just trying his best, very unwell and it shows (but thats good cuz at least nobody questions his age too much)

also imagine. gerry coming up to the library, and very much seeing a?? person??? on top of it??? and goes "wtf" and climbs it, this somehow being the most interesting thing to happen despite all the shit from his mum, young but still a few years older than marto boy (4 years is my personal hc, so he's 22)

gerry sees martin and thinks "goddamn, its mental illness innit", notices martin is petting. a falcon?? what?? like its normal, and just kinda. strucks up conversation cuz martin looks very much like shit. also he's got a big bird in his lap (this is my crack hc that martin is like a disney princess)

martin, bless him, is very depressed and also tired and also doesnt have the energy to even smile so he just blankly looks at gerry and goes "oh what the hell, sure, he's hot why not" and proceeds to get a tiny wittle crush on gerry for the few months they meet in the library

gerry is fond of martin but thats it, doesnt want attachments, not with this lifestyle, not with his mother being a fucking greedy motherfucker, besides it only causes trouble. and he's not fooled, he knows martin is a bby. he hopes he gets better, cuz hes a nice kid

then gerry needs to deal wish some entities shit, he a busy boy as well, and he'll be away a little bit. he's trying to be more independent and find his own cases and shit without his mom, now that he knows her intentions and doesnt want her legacy. he wants his own. and sadly that means leaving martin alone for a little while

martin is very fucking upset but doesnt show it cause. well. he knows its not fair. he's grown to like gerry a lil bit and he's the only friend he's got. and now he's gonna be gone.

gerry wishes him good luck and tells him "take care of yourself yeah? if not for you, then for me." and that alone fills martin with some determination to actually get better. he doesnt know when gerry will be back, so he'll just. get better. he'll try. for gerry.

truly what happens is that he gets two years older and just a lot more accepting of what he's living in, so he jsut naturally gets better just by living basically the same way. he tries to take walks more tho, and starts writing again, cuz why not, gets into witchcraft again cuz he missed it (also a hc of mine, kinda crack, kinda serious), starts making tea for himself and then his coworkers

by 20, almost 21, he's still unwell per say, he's still depressed, but at least he's trying to do things he likes. thats what counts, hes trying. and he likes that. also he got a bit taller. and bigger, one of his jobs is kinda physically taxing so it just happens naturally

so when gerry comes back and sees martin smile at him, which never fucking happened before, also hes taller. and has muscle on his arms. and more freckles, look at that wow "i like men" basically

its kinda like, love at second sight, and gerry doesnt know how he feels abt it, so he procrastinates dealing with those feelings and just befriends martin all over again.

martin, for his part, had moved on from gerry a lil bit, but now the crush is back at full force, gerry looks cool, has new piercings, new tattoos?? his hair is still horribly dyed and he bullies gerry for it and this is when gerry finds out martin is a bit of a bitch, and also mean, and its cute

also thinking abt my tma band au, ive been thinking abt it so much, jsut cause i love making martin deranged?? i love it, so imagine. they start the band around 2010, like the covers, just testing things out, introductions whatever.

it is clear, from the start, that jon does not like martin. ppl dont know why, but it did inspire some fans to do the same. they'd notice how he never posts any covers on his own while the others do, jon with his vocals, tim with his guitar, sasha with the bass, etc. so the natural conclusion was either 1) hes lazy to do so or 2) hes shit at playing the drums. ppl also hate him for more prejudiced reasons

the reason why jon isnt martins biggest fan is because he wasnt supposed to be on the band, gerry was!! but at the time of the auditions n stuff, he got his cancer diagnosis n obviously decided to heal n maybe do his own thing. jon n gerry were close friends at the time, so this saddened jon greatly. he alludes to this too much whenever he talks abt martin that ppl start to hate on martin for that too, especially when ppl find out how gerry looks like and, again, hate him for more... superficial reasons

so martin is not having a good time! he doesnt have a lot of music experience n kinda went in on the audition as a joke, thinking his shit playing would not lend him anywhere, but elias picked him, n since elias is basically the boss n gives the funds for the band, what he says, goes. (if youre wondering, yes, elias only hired martin so they could have more drama right at the beginning, knowing it would drive jon MAD to see such a noob right there on the drums.)

tim n sasha n this au have their own thing going on, sasha is figuring out her aro identity while also feeling great affection for tim n not knowing what to do abt it or what it means, n tim is very much in love with sasha but that scares him, big emotions like that scary him, especially when hes not even sure she likes him at all, n now his friend jon is being an asshole, n his brother danny was supposed to be on the band to manage sound n shit, but right now he cant, n its a mess, n hes stressed!!

but tim is also the only one who believes martin can n will learn how to play drums so, he n sasha put their issues aside n teach him as much as he can.

meanwhile, they decide a great way for fans to learn more abt them, not just through concerts or interviews, which might take a while, especially at the start, they start doing lives! they all have their own accounts n have decided that each of their live streams r their own, in other words, thats how they want the fans to see them; to know each other, they'll do it the old fashioned way. so, they dont watch each others livestreams at all.

so. martin starts his own lives. gets basically no views n a lot of hate comments n is 2 seconds away from killing somebody in his pain, but doesnt, cuz he doesnt want the attention on him. the live streams, per the band's request, r also not to be talked abt at length in interviews, its more between the members n the fans. martin, already feeling like a burden, is relieved that they dont have to say anything abt their streams if they dont want to, cause fuck hes not doing so hot there.

until one day, on their first concert, afterwards where they get to talk to the fans, on fan comes up n (half-jokingly) begs martin to just start being mean. just block ppl n be mean on his streams cuz its terrible in there!! martin is delighted n This Will Be Remembered but his bandmates r horrified, even jon. they didnt know martin was getting harassed like this, n jon feels kinda guilty abt it, which results in him just. avoiding martin for a while. mentions of him turn neutral n profissional cuz hes embarassed.

but now??? martin's true power is UNLEASHED!! he does not give a shit!! u say shit? u get blocked!! fuck u!! he starts just doing whatever on his lives, asks for challenges, for videos to react, and further down the line, starts playing games, which just means he's only getting recommended horror games, the poor guy

he treats the fans like his friends n the fans are DELIGHTED they love martin. hes just a freak!! just a weirdo!! also hes kinda hot!! also hes getting so much better at drums, omg!! look!!!!

thankfully, they do have a mostly chill fanbase, n they just interact with each other pretty comfortably as the years go by; if there is idolazation happening, it is minimal, or they just dont see it.

also the other three OF COURSE also get weirder as the years go by, but martin is the one that shocked everyone, since hes always on the shadows, never appears much, keeps to himself, n then u go watch a stream from him n its just him screaming at fnaf or reacting to smut fanfics of them (horribly written, requested by him n tim specifically, n they dont read it out loud, they just react. yes tim is there, n its a delight, halfway they get drunk n suddenly everybody's meme folder got 10x larger)

anyways, band shenanigans. love them. also love that i get to listen to audios n imagine what ppl would edit of them n im just staring off into space thinking abt hot band ppl, im living the dream

im feeling rly tired n i got an exam tmr so i wont be drawing more today bUT i can expand on the um bfu au a bit more to explain their characters a bit more

like season 1 and 2 of bfu both true crime and supernatural is like:

jon + gerry are basically dating but at the same time they assume the other does not feel the same way even tho they live together since jon finished uni and they share each others clothes n shit and go everywhere together

jon + martin are very complicated. here we don't have like the um boss/subordinate dynamic, theyre mere coworkers so martin is less nervous abt jon HOWEVER jon gets very moody around martin since he's in gerry's place (gerry is away because of family issues and also he later on gets another job so he doesnt come back fully, only makes cameos here n there).

since jon is just a petty lil asshole around martin at the start their convos are sometimes a bit stilted and tense, before this show started jon was neutral/nice to martin, his problem is that he's not gerry.

once martin gets fed up with jon's bullshit however, jon is guilty and just as he gathers the nerve to apologize gerry calls him like "YOU IDIOT!!! JUST SAY SORRY TO THE POOR GUY, WHAT HAS HE DONE TO YOU!!" which in hindsight is hilarious, it's almost like gerry read jon's mind but in the moment jon got very defensive and admitted that he missed gerry a lot. very emotional moment between two ppl who are weird with emotions so things get awkward.

funnily, its martin who helps jon out with his feelings, a martin that, very much like canon, has a crush on jon. he's still mad at jon and now he's a lil heartbroken because its obvious jon likes gerry so he assumes he has 0 chances here but he's an adult and he gets past that and he helps jon n gerry with their relationship.

season 3 of bfu:

jon + gerry are datingggggg (finally ffs), gerry gets a new job doing tattoos but on days he doesn't have appointments he's the one behind the camera when the boys are filming, on other days its sasha and tim.

jon + martin are exploring their new found friendship and it grows fast like wildfire. they have great chemistry, their banter is lovely, their funny, and more importantly theyre only jokingly mean to each other. jon is very much a suffering believer while martin does believe in the supernatural he just doesnt believe that these supernatural creatures would leave so much evidence behind and highly doubts any footage or sounds. this is also a way to lessen his fear of these monsters but jon doesn't need to know that

martin is still crushing. hard. jon is very happy in his relationship that he doesn't see his feelings for martin blooming, even tho there are (at this point) several compilations on yt titled "jon looking at martin with heart eyes for 10 minutes bisexual part 5", or along those lines. timsasha tease them constantly, sometimes they make the cut, others don't. on those bloopers videos it's more obvious and the teasing is non stop

martin is begging them to stop because he doesnt want jon to feel uncomfy or anything, while jon finds them very amusing, since he's so secure with gerry theres just No Way that he has feelings for martin, even if his heart fucking somersaults and the thought.

season 4 and 5 of bfu:

jongerry going strong, gerry has evolved to teasing as well and does more cameos here n there just because, he's also behind the camera more n more after the positive response from fans. gerry more easily sees his feelings for martin than jon and purposefully abuses this, voicing out his musings to jon just to watch him blush and fluster (gerry's fav part time hobby let me tell ya)

jonmartin are in the same situation that jongerry were in season 1. basically married already but assume there's no feelings evolved. martin fully on has accepted the unrequited love situation he believes is going on, jon is still in denial despite gerry's help on the matter, timsasha are becoming desperate, hell, the fans as well. it's critical at this point, somebody PLEASE shake them hard, they need to see it.

season 6 and onwards of bfu:

jongerry still going strong folks, gerry is way more direct to jon abt his feelings for martin and they (youre not gonna believe this-) talk about it. jon feels very stupid and after watching those compilations is also a lil embarassed but then he finds martin's versions and just gets flustered because "holy shit, its.... mutual?? maybe??" and gerry just facepalms and says "yes jon its mutual now go kiss. or talk. maybe talk first then kiss, yh"

jonmartin (again this is very shocking i know) talk (WOW OMG) and both realize their feelings (very awkwardly let me tell you but martin was a brave lil boy abt it n they got somewhere), they very much did kiss (wrow) and it was very sweet and all before the start of season 6.

so basically season 6 comes and they dont mention it to the fans, timsasha knew immediately and sigh in relief so now they turn to their new victim: gerrymartin, who everybody assumes is one sided, gerry as well.

gerry is a very bad influence so now its jon who teases martin and talks abt gerry very romantically just to watch martin blush. however it takes wayyy less time for martin to come around because. come on now. gerry's hot n shit n also very nice n weird and a nerd, he's like a taller, goth jon whos a lil less awkward and a bit more confident, u think martin wouldnt fall for this man as well?

anyways at this point, martin is at his what i like to call "lil shit phase but like it's obvious this time", so instead of confessing like a normal person, he teases gerry off and on show. it takes gerry off guard at first cuz "???? is martin flirting with me???? is he just being a bitch???..... i love it" but then he hits martin back equally, so jon is ever suffering between these two when they're in the same room, which is a lot since jongerry live together and jonmartin are dating. timsasha are finding this all very hilarious, so are the fans

season 7 bfu:

jonmartin get togetherrrrrrr, yes bitch. jgm polycule lets go!!! in on of those postmortem vids they casually mention this along with jonmartin n shit (they talk abt martin moving in with jongerry) and the viewers LOSE THEIR SHIT. they trend on twitter n everything. is all very funny. n they're very happy together. at this point a lot of the bloopers is just them being cute n gross n also arguing like an old married couple which they then have to cut or the vids would be like 1 hour long

n thats it. im gonna take a bath now. n then do a covid test!! n hopefully its negative!!! im nervous!!!

my new otp is gerrymartin plus gerryoliver with eventual martinoliver BUT at first martin doesnt rly like ollie cuz hes jelly of him n gerry, thinks gerry prefers oliver over martin (all this while they are only friends, no dating yet)

gerry and oliver date first and martin accepts that gerry will never like him so its whatever, its fine, he'll try to make friends with oliver. gerry knows hes trying but also doesnt rly think martin will be able to befriend ollie

well on the same year martin and gerry get together and figure some shit out, martin and oliver start to become friends, but the other assumes they have told gerry of this, so they dont need to again. so for YEARS martin and oliver are friends while gerry silently struggles between being with two ppl who dont like each other (allegedly).

in fact, when martin and gerry have their relationship problems, martin turns to oliver for support, and also michael, gerry's uncle, because i think that'd be hilarious and i'd like michael to have a friend.

anyways, i like to imagine martin and gerry having a show like too many spirits from watcher where they read spooky stories and get drunk, with oliver and michael being steven (oliver is the steven behind the camera and also ricky when he comes around, cuz i think oliver knowing how to bartender is kinda cool, michael is the crazy steven who does not know how to bartender but does it anyways. its fucking hilarious)

as you can see, i rly like mixing bfu or anything with ryan and shane with tma cuz i just think it fits very well.

ive started to design a pirate martin blackwood with all the gender i can squeeze into him, which is a lot since hes tall n big all around yknow-

first off, he has a mullet, because salesa once said it'd look cool on him when he was younger, and salesa was this cool older dude whom martin rly liked and he was the one that convinced annabelle to keep him (this was at the beginning of annabelle's captaincy, and while she didnt want to risk anything, martin was an adorable child so she couldnt resist. peter didnt give a shit)

he has an earring (left ear) that peter actually made for his birthday but then promptly forgot, much to annabelle's dismay since she was the one who told him to do so; doesnt matter, martin found it later on, thought it looked cool, and "stole" it. they only told him the truth much much later

martin's weapons are throwing knives, annabelle's old ones from when she was younger (she much prefers pistols now); a cutlass made by salesa (they match, which they both find very cool, since from these four theyre the ones who do most of the fighting, and they're pretty good at it); lastly, he has a pistol he made himself after taking apart peter's, much to his dismay (peter now uses muskets, when he does fight)

he also uses smoke bombs and distraction gadgets of that matter, since he is quite easily seen, and the element of surprise is always so useful; he also uses them to prank the other. he was a nightmare of a teenager

because of several accidents, he has lost three of his teeth: one of his bottom incisors (on the right) and, much to his delight, his two upper canines (the loss of these were... more on the torture vein, but he had his revenge don't worry); his incisors replacement is a moderately normal one, made of metal with a flower engraved in it; his canines were replaced with much sharper looking ones, made of gold (annabelle liked this idea so much, she got dentures of several materials, all of them with canines as sharp and long as she wants)

he likes flowy shirts and tight pants, sometimes he wears a scarf around his head to push his hair back when he's working

he has a big back tattoo, half spider half flowers that a friend of his, and an informant for annabelle on the ground, designed, one Gerry Delano; salesa teases martin for his crush on gerry all the time, which martin ignores cuz gerry has a boyfriend, oliver banks or antonio blake or whatever name he wants to call himself (no, he's not jealous, and he quite likes his life at sea, he does not miss land sometimes, nope, no way)
