im gonna say, for least angst possible, him and reader mutually agreed to cut it off after she informed him about azriel. he sympathizes with finding your mate and wishes them the best and then he'll go off and live his own life. i'll say he becomes the best healer in all of prythian AND the continent..... just as compensation for his troubles for the sake of this fic lmao

If Azriel hadn't interfered, would Rhysand have stopped the marriage?

honestly i didn't think that far, but im gonna say no.

rhys only really caught on that they were mates when az circled back to his office with all those questions, and even then it was only a suspicion until az was like "she didnt feel it :("

rhysand is very laissez faire with a lot of aspects of the night court (cough cough illyria cough court of nightmares cough cough) so i wanna say that he wouldnt have done anything. if reader and az already knew each other well, then, thats a different story and i absolutely think rhys would've orchestrated something at that point.

BUT azriel is a big boy. rhys knows if az wanted the wedding stopped, he would do something himself. sure, theres the chance he'd brood the wedding day away and then be miserable that his mate was married to someone else, but i dont think thats likely tbh. canon az seems so very intent on finding his mate and being with them forever, i dont think he'd just let them go

basically tldr; i didnt think about it but maybe? but likely no need bc i dont really see az not interfering
