Fear flashed in Socorra’s eyes and she sat up straighter, a sort of mask falling down over her as she bowed her head to him, “I apologize. It is my honor to serve his majesty with the remains of my powers.”

I know it’s just been static silence from me for a while but here...have some stress...

“I can’t leave him,” Takahiro protested.

The barrier shattered around them, falling like glass but tickling like feathers as it graced his skin.

Takahiro felt his heart snap in two a second before his mind bent in half.
