Anyway!

What's March for Raph? A list of 31 prompts (words or short phrases) for the month of March, all Raph centric, open to any iteration. You can draw, make gifs, write stories, write essays, short videos, whatever you can think of! No pressure at all to complete all the prompts, it's less of a checklist more of an inspiration board. The point is just to celebrate a character we love and also meet other Raph fans, that's really the best part.

03 Raph vs CDH Don

03 Raph mostly tends to punch—wait

I’m looking for where he punches because I can see it so clearly. Yeah there he is swinging his arms, classic Raph, angry eyes, will never tire

But he’s holding his sai, that’s not punching. What is he doing? Is he slashing with them? I guess keep the fists swinging and regardless of what weapon you have they will stay away from your face.

Anyway, that’s defensive fighting, His offensive style is more varied. We know he’s mastered lots of kicks and punches because of how he compliments the names of specific moves while he’s fighting Purple Dragons (the first time, anyway. He gets tired of those guys real fast).

I’m trying so hard to find how CDH Donnie fights I think there’s too many fairies. Pixies? My brain is broken. Anyway he’s an evasive type of guy. Neener neener you can’t catch me haha I’m behind you oop now I’m flying away on your private jet. I’m talking about vibes not specifics. Specifically he does neener neener and fly away.

Evasion is a good tactic against Raph, his physical strength and passion make him someone you don’t wanna face up close if you don’t have to. So the question with these two really is, who can hold out longer? Donatello is pretty good at distracting and avoiding, however Raph is used to 03 Mikey. He’s not at that level. And if Raph catches him, I don’t like his odds.

Archie Michelangelo vs CDH Leonardo

See whenever I try to do these ‘who would win in a fight’ I always end up with ‘but they wouldn’t, they would skip rocks and eat ice cream together.’

Archie Michelangelo tends to rely more on his brothers, not much of a fighter at heart. However, when it does come down to him he always comes through. Also he is never afraid to put himself in front of someone and shield them from danger. His fighting style tends to be repetitive motions, like he will find a weak spot and just drum. He’s got the stamina to keep at whatever needs done until his opponent is finished, however he often lacks the confidence to take decisive action.

CDH Leonardo is certainly less conniving than the Leo this Mikey is used to.. He is still a leader, however. He’s observant of his enemies and preparing to make a call when it’s time. I can see him getting cartoonishly beat on by Archie Mikey while he observes and waits, but I don’t see him staying down for long. I guess it depends how many times Mikey can knock him down and whether Leo thinks it’s worth it to win (this is only a game, after all).

IDW Jennika vs CDH Raphael

Jennika was a trained foot soldier—something which ninja turtles traditionally beat, however she has a friendship with the bros a cool girlfriend and some of Leo’s blood which turned her into a turtle, so the narrative is a little more in his favor. Combine that with deadly precision and strength, she’s quite the formidable opponent.

Raphael:

It’s kind of more of a superhero vs ninja? Although Raph does have ninja training as well, while Jennika has no magic crystal powers. She has a lot more drive to fight, however.

I really do feel like Raph bringing his animeness into this makes it a question of narrative satisfaction. Who has a lesson to learn? Who has something to prove? Who needs victory more? And the crazy thing is I think maybe that doesn't work in his favor.

But it's ultimately up to you! Where is this fight going?

2003 Leo vs CDH Michelangelo

03 Leo is a hard one to beat. He really has forged himself into a deadly weapon through years of deliberate, careful effort.

CDH turtles again? Idk man he. I mean historically the best way to beat 03 Leo is to stab him from behind in the shoulder, and CDH Mikey’s definitely not doing that.

Leo is more likely to take decisive action. I wish I had more to say in Michelangelo’s defense, I really do. I cannot physically watch those fight scenes again wait the train roof!

It’s because Michelangelo’s best fighting doesn’t happen in super turtle form. His best fighting is in Japan, on the roof of the bullet train to be precise, where everything is filled with nostalgia (reference). And where he—

Okay so I guess his best fighting does happen in super turtle form. And it wasn’t necessary for me to leave the whole draft for you all to read through but I am petty and tired. 03 Leo go ahead and beat him up he has annoyed me. When he does a move it’s just like a flash of color, maybe you see his foot or fist or something, I have no idea how or even if he fights. Points for stealth I guess

I mean the other CDH turtles at least give me something.

CDH Donatello vs Next Mutation Michelangelo

The real loser of this fight is whatever poor soul has been assigned to keep them both focused on actually fighting, instead of like. Watching butterflies or cooking rice. Hey wait that’s me lskdjflakj

SO CDH Donatello. He’s pretty observant, that could serve him well in a fight against this particular opponent. He’s got some discipline, and in the right circumstances you can see a little fierceness shining through. I don’t have much to say about his fighting style because the fight scenes are.. hard for me to follow.. just the animation style I guess.. but he is definitely intended to be a powerful ninja especially in super turtle form.

Next Mutation Mikey fights best in a group. He and his siblings banter, it’s really very key to his fighting style. He is a quick thinker, he takes on Quease by himself and rescues Donatello. Also, anything goes in this fight and I’m not sure Donatello can survive his stinky breath. He’s also a big kicker which can serve him well against a tall opponent. On the other hand, he nor any of his bros can beat Venus, which might indicate that magic is sort of a weakness (is CDH’s super turtle form magic? It comes from a dark crystal and stuff). His ego could be his downfall if Don plays his cards right, however I don’t think this purple turtle is much of a manipulator….

Can Donatello survive Mikey's stinky breath long enough to get the upper hand?
