lena kelley is autistic and has schizoid personality disorder. she never got diagnosed for either. she is never going to get diagnosed for either. nobody interprets her symptoms as anything except just "that's what she's like lol". she's low-empathy. she's only ever been in 2 romantic relationships, neither of which ever caused her any joy, both of which ended somewhat horribly. this is also partially why she joined the oiar in the first place: the idea of working alone in the quiet during the night, not bothered by anybody, not pressured to interact, able to drift into her own world and take comfort in the monotony of it all really appealed to her.

i had to do a bit of research about schizoid personality disorder but yes!!! i absolutely agree with this oh my goodness

other people at the office don't really know what her "deal" is (spoiler alert, neither does she) but they don't really care. at the end of the day, that's just the way she is, and they've accepted it.

fuck it, how i think tmp characters hygiene headcanons

Alice: basic hygiene stuff, however she has like 20 of those bath and bodyworks mist things that she rotates between. Will she smell like pumpkin spice or sour apple today? Who knows!

Sam: also basic hygiene stuff, however there is one type he cares extra about and has fun doing, what that one is im not sure.

Cecilia: a bit more quality than basic hygiene, however I think she also carries a lot of products on her just in case

Gwen: she gets stuff that’s high quality because they’re higher quality rather than because she’s used likes them more, she doesn’t put much time into any routines because she’s fairly practical about it, i think she is not properly using at least one product (maybe she doesn’t know how to condition her hair or something) because she cares more for the idea of proper hygiene rather than her actual hygiene.

Lena: she’s more particular however unlike gwen she picks out stuff she likes and focuses more on how it feels not just how good it works. She also does self care days.

Colin: bare basics. i think every once in a while he gets something interesting for the fun of it, uses it up, and then goes back to using axe body spray and 3 in one. OR he has a weirdly specific routine that confuses anyone he’s talking to. All his shower stuff smells like fruit.

Personal take, as much as I enjoy the aesthetic I don't really get why so many people draw the Magnus Protocol characters so punk/alt and cool looking.

I've worked both night-shift computer jobs AND in small government and the only flavors those comes in are definitely "do not perceive me", "respectable comfy", and "I am very Important."

Alice is the comfy type, she's been in this job so long she doesn't care and is focused on being comfy. The most fashionable I can imagine her getting is tucking her over-sized sweater in to her jeans. Probably wears converse. I could see her being a fun makeup type girl though, a pop of color smudged on her eyelids with her ring finger on her commute ride on the tube.

Sam is new, he's still at least trying but this is still a polo and slacks type situation. Clean tennis shoes at best after wearing his good leather shoes on his first day. His hair is neatly combed, but not what one would call "styled."

Collin is late night IT. I have been late night IT specifically. He is the most likely to be wearing a t-shirt with a dumb phrase on it and get away with it. Hoodies. Jeans with faded knees from crawling under desks. Occasionally sweatpants if he's having a real bad day. Hair long enough for a ponytail, or messy and short. Dirty sneakers.

Now Gwen is a climber. She over-dresses. She has simple jewelry, but it is real gold. Her hair is tied tightly back in a bun, french-twist, or mid-height ponytail. She wears sensible, but high quality shoes, occasionally a small heel. Skirts, slacks, button down shirts and form-fitting sweaters. You wouldn't catch her dead without her no-makeup makeup.

Lena is government management, even if she is night shift. Business casual all day every day. Voted most likely to wear a blazer. She doesn't wear much jewelry, but that is most definitely an expensive watch on her wrist and it is set to International Atomic Time. I personally imagine her with glasses, but that's mostly so I can picture her staring down Gwen while looking over them.

I guess these designs maybe aren't as fun? But a lot of the more flamboyant designs would totally break my immersion, cause having been there, no one in those jobs dresses like that heh...
