A lot of people were asking how I mounted the wooden crate to my bike and I realized that I didn’t do a very good job explaining it. Here is a quick little process video showing how I did it. The brackets I made were very crude. I measured out and drilled holes in two scrap pieces of wood taped together and then used that as a template to drill the holes in the actual crate. Put tnuts on the inside and then screwed into them with a bolt from underneath. I was getting some questions about how we attached the legs to our teak storage bench. The legs themselves were bought by @rosegoldmodern and we used T-nuts to attach them. I learned something on this furniture build that I did not know before. I would have (mistakenly) put the T nuts on the bottom of the bench and then screwed in to them from the bottom. Aaron informed me that you should actually put them on the inside of the bench and screw in to them from below creating a super strong connection. Definitely an aha moment for me! In order to get the legs in straight I made a very simple jig out of a scrap of wood and made one straight hole in it on my drill press. I then used that as a guide so I knew my drill was going in straight (ish) 😳 where we wanted the legs.
