I was getting some questions about how we attached the legs to our teak storage bench. The legs themselves were bought by @rosegoldmodern and we used T-nuts to attach them. I learned something on this furniture build that I did not know before. I would have (mistakenly) put the T nuts on the bottom of the bench and then screwed in to them from the bottom. Aaron informed me that you should actually put them on the inside of the bench and screw in to them from below creating a super strong connection. Definitely an aha moment for me! In order to get the legs in straight I made a very simple jig out of a scrap of wood and made one straight hole in it on my drill press. I then used that as a guide so I knew my drill was going in straight (ish) 😳 where we wanted the legs. Another day in the workshop with @rosegoldmodern working on the teak storage bench. We used a biscuit joiner to join the bench top panel and then reinforced it with three mitered teak pieces that I think look really nice on the under side. Aaron’s going to sand and finish it and you can put a fork in this one.
