She learns it because that what bring her happines and joy and fun! (And also to put smiles on other ppl faces on the way ^^ but less talking about that rn)

Like at the starts she says she enjoys so much chaseing her dreams she doesnt care how good she is!

I forgot to post about this when we were in these chapters! But I need to, because it influences one of my favorite headcanons. 

“We know only a few dances at home, the kind that go with fiddle and flute and require a good deal of space.” 

Based on the fact that they’re in former Appalachia, I’d venture a guess this means Katniss and Peeta know (at least vaguely) how to do country dances: maybe a barn dance like the one in this video (skip to 4:45 for the actual demo) or this (skip to 3:35) or this one (skip to 4:03). And it just makes me happy, because I am a big proponent of #southern!Everlark. 

It also means great opportunities for post-Mockingjay festival dances under autumn foliage and strung lanterns, store owners selling cider and squash soup as the sun goes down.
