So I’ve been really getting into synthwave music recently.

Specific OC questions: 2, 3, 5, 7.

So, in relation to this post:

2: Toa Tom’s spotify playlist would probably be full of synthwave and chiptune. He loves music where pure tones and strong bass create a seamless, driven melody. Listening to songs with strong and exciting melodies helps to enhance his sonic powers. First example off the top of my head would be PYLOT. 

3: Being a Toa of Sonics, he most enjoys rhythmic video games like Guitar Hero and Audiosurf. He hates dancing, though. 

5: Rain is Toa Tom’s favourite weather. The white noise helps him to zone out when he’s meditating or practicing his sonics. Rain also has the added bonus of reacting to sound waves, so he can see his powers at work as well as feeling them.

7: He wouldn’t want any sort of noisy or distracting pet. He’d probably have a tank with some nice brightly-coloured fish.

12: Oh, I like this one. If in a tv show, I’m pretty sure he should be voiced by Martin Freeman.

29: ... there is no 29, so I’ll assume 19: Does he collect things? Hell yeah. He keeps a collection of interesting bits of scrap that he finds, and fiddles with them while he’s doing stuff. Also he collects anything that he can comfortably levitate in his hand, like smooth round pebbles.

So here’s Toa Tom. The photo above is the oldest picture of him I could find... and I had to take it from an old video on my youtube channel. Please no-one go looking for it. It’s embarrassing.

Here’s the facts:

1. The very first iteration of Toa Tom’s MOC (circa 2006) had a great Ruru.

2. He became my adopted Self-MOC after my friend Andrew and I made up a self-insert bionicle fanfiction during lunchtimes at school.

3. I decided on his element last year, after so many people asked me what element he was. Beforehand, he was just... silver.

4. He’s generally optimistic, with a dry sense of humour. Usually the first to point out problems, and a little rash with his decision making.

5. He began life on the Northern Continent, and wound up on Mata Nui through a series of various mishaps, detailed here.

6. He uses his Great Mahiki to compliment his control of Sonics, making his opponent not only see him elsewhere, but hear him as if the apparition was real. These decoy tactics are his preferred mode of attack since he’s sensitive to loud noises, and he can also sneak around completely silently. When he’s put under pressure, however, he uses pulses of sound to throw the enemy down or shatter their weapons and armour. 

7. If he’s made angry (which takes some effort, in which case you’ve earned what comes next), he can shout VERY LOUDLY. He also likes to use his Mahiki to appear taller and more intimidating.

8. He often can be seen tapping or clicking his fingers, and when alone, uses his sonic abilities to surround himself with music.
