A quick 2005-inspired Bionicle art, Nuju Hordika dealing with the loss of his analytical thinking ability due to his mutation. A concept that was originally the foundation to his character arc in early documents for the 2005 story before his role got decreased.

He was supposed to have a little personal arc in Web of Shadows of overthinking things, only to finally learn to trust his bestial instinct rather than his mind as all the Toa take advantage of their mutations by the climax. But this and many other story beats got less focus as the plot was constantly being rewritten and the narrative to Web of Shadows became more simplified.

Interestingly, another scene in an early script draft gave Nuju the ability to switch into robotic environment-scanning mode and even talk like a cheesy old-school sci-fi robot, which seems to run counter to the idea that he became more animalistic and lost his connection to his Toa mind. This scene was toned down and reworked into the bit where his eye lens suddenly develops X-ray vision in the film.

Did this months ago, but forgot to take pictures until now...

Earlier this year, I decided to get the rest of the Hordika I was missing, and then made a bunch of heavy modifications to their design, with the addition of a secondary color, adjusting certain limb lengths to reflect their Turaga proportions, filling out their torsoes and giving a waist joint, and of course the Miramax-style claw and weapon-arm setup.

It's not as intensive as what I did with the Hordika, but I also spruced up the Metru and Lhikan a fair bit with those same secondary colors, and also adjusted the legs. (Though I forgot to give Nokama longer arms, whoops.)

Sorakhii, Rahi Poaching Kingpin

Like any good Xian, Sorakhii has a taste for profit and no scruples to get in the way of obtaining it. She is the boss of Kirox Aulu ("Red Claw"), a shadowy syndicate focused on the poaching and trafficking of exotic Rahi. Although she herself doesn't much care for Rahi, she understands that there are collectors and enthusiasts who would pay handsomely for Muaka fangs or Kane-Ra horns.

Being both a Vortixx and the leader of a lucrative criminal enterprise, it should come as no surprise that Sorakhii is a harsh boss to work for. She does not tolerate failure, and would prefer her underlings to die rather than fail. While she may prefer to let others do her dirty work, she is not afraid to venture out into the field to show her worthless henchmen how to do their jobs.

Some time ago, Sorakhii lost her right forearm at the talons of a particularly ravenous Reas-Nui. She ended up beating the giant bird into submission and now keeps it as her personal pet, naming it Pridak after the great king of antiquity. She's replaced her arm with a cannon that fires superheated spheres of liquified gold - an exorbitantly expensive weapon for an exorbitantly wealthy Oropi.

I had this idea when I remembered Matau saying something along the lines of "I better be with my pack-team!" And thought they would look lovely all snuggled together like actual rahi lmao

That was far from happening tho, they were very dysfunctional during that time 😵‍💫
