01 That F**king Bird

Had this comic sketched out for a long while, finally finished it. One thing I took into consideration regarding the potential comic was the consistency of characters; I want to draw us in the outfits we were wearing at that point time, so I’ll list who’s who in the credits.

This was this one bird thing that would heal itself, and in the early days of playing Unison League, it was the bane of our existence. We all hated that thing.

It didn’t turn out exactly the way I wanted it to but that’s ok, That’s what learning is for.

TOASTHOUSE

Feeling sentiental. It’s cheesy, I know, but I can’t say it any other way.

Long story short, I’m the leader of a guild in Unison League, and today, the 17th, we have to say goodbye to an important member. Rambunctious, defiant, quick witted, almost trigger happy, and always had more guts than I did. It’s funny to call myself the leader; I always felt like I was the one who was lead. The team is constantly changing, but I still feel like TOASTHOUSE the best guild I could ever ask for.

I always said I’d draw a webcomic for all our silly antics the team and I got into, but I never really got to it. However, I still haven’t given up on the thought.

Disclaimer: I drew the outfits wrong but it’s really hard to get the outfits right with a giant honking weapon in the way, and no back view. I also blatantly drew my outfit wrong, because I liked the way my sketch looked and didn’t want to cover the back up. Whoops.

If you're out that way, try Toast House, 22 Leeds Rd, Ilkley LS29 8DS. Pics not brilliant - but they do a job. Our attention was drawn to the way six women worked so coherently in such a small space.

It’s an unexpected floor show

It’s a mid-day happen-chance

It’s an interactive workshop

Yielding rhythmic, patterned dance

It’s an unrehearsed performance

On a daily public stage

With a cast of solo artists

Who are show-cased to engage

In a flowing entertainment

At a purpose-focused pace

With a silent understanding

And a calm, unknowing grace

It’s a Theatre of Toast

Wherein all players play their part

In the unremarked production

Of an accidental art
