She sleepily rolled over in bed frowning when she didn’t feel Luke next to her but his spot on the bed was still warm.

She rubbed her eyes getting out of bed and flinching at the freezing cold floor as she started to walked out of their room and down the hallway towards the kitchen figuring Luke was hungry in the middle of the night again and that’s why he was out of bed.

She shook her head fondly not at all surprised seeing Luke standing in the dark kitchen eating a bowl of whah looked like cereal.

She slowly walked over wrapping her arms around Luke plonking her forehead on his chest and closing her eyes.

“Hi baby.” Luke softly mumbled rubbing her back gently as he stopped eating to talk to her, he continued eating with one hand so he could hold her, something that has become easy for him from holding her many times while he is eating.

She looked up pouting noticing how far away his face was from her’s, it’s one of the few things about his height that she does not love.

She leaned up on her tippy toes trying to reach his face to press a kiss to his jawline and huffed once she could not reach his jaw, it annoyed her to no end everytime she tried to kiss him and could never reach.

Luke chuckled fondly setting his bowl down feeling her huff and knew she was trying to kiss him. He finds it absolutely adorable how much shorter than him.

He bent his knees making himself shorter for her and she beamed happily pressing multiple kisses across his jawline until Luke was red in the face from laughter as her kisses tickled him.

“Let’s get back to bed silly goose.” Luke laughed picking up his girlfriend easily making her legs naturally wrap around his stomach and her arms around his neck and hiding her face in his neck happily.

“You are washing that bowl in the morning.” She mumbled against his neck, she has found way too many dishes from his late night snacks that are annoying to clean from sitting for hours.

“Of course.” Luke easily agreed pressing a kiss to her head as he carried her back to bed.

Luke was full of smiles during his team practice at Met life, he was so excited to be able to skate later with his girlfriend.

With Luke being incredibly busy with his rookie year and his girlfriend trying to finish up college they haven’t had a lot of free time together and most of the time they have spent together is just relaxing or sleeping so they haven’t got any chances to skate together for a little while.

Jack shook his head laughing watching his baby brother hurry back to the ice once practice was over as the team was heading to join their families for family skate.

Luke quickly got onto the ice and skate over to where he saw his parents and girlfriend, he smiled seeing them together.

Luke skated up behind his girlfriend wrapping his arms around her stomach and resting his chin on her shoulder pressing a kiss to her cheek.

He smiled softly seeing her blushing bright red knowing how shy she can get around other people even though they have been dating for almost four years already.

“Hello darling.” Luke softly mumbled to her nuzzling his nose to her cheek as they slowly skated together.

Ellen and Jim shared a fond look, the same look they share every time they see how happy Luke is with his girlfriend.

“Hi.” She softly mumbled back leaning into Luke’s warm embrace.

“Okay okay let me get my hugs too.” Jack pouted when he skated over wanting a hug from her too.

“She’s my girlfriend.” Luke grumbled holding onto her possessively glaring at his brother.

“She’s my best friend.” Jack snarked back glaring playfully at his brother. He was the one who introduced them.

Luke grumbled rolling his eyes but very reluctantly let her go making Jack immediately pull her into a tight hug.

“Alright long enough.” Luke grumbled after a few seconds, he barely has gotten any time with his girlfriend and there is no way in hell he sharing her with his brother.

Jack rolled his eyes but let go of his best friend, “You have a clingy one.” Jack teased watching immediately as Luke wrapped his arm back around her.

“I know.” She softly laugh leaning her head on Luke’s chest and was not suprised when Luke pulled her away from his family.

“Give me a kiss” Luke looked down at his girlfriend pouting at he spoke wanting kiss, he hasn’t gotten his kiss yet.

“Now?” Her voice squeaked and her eyes darted around looking at all the people.

“Ignore them.” Luke reassured her and cupped her face and pulled her into a soft but long kiss.

She melted into the kiss and her hands went up to his beanie.

beach naps

She laughed throwing her head back as she watched her best friends and boyfriend’s playing beach volleyball, they were spending the day at the beach and she was playing with them earlier but figured out it is much more amusing watching the boys play.

Jack whipped his head around playfully glaring at his laughing best friend, “Don’t you start missy.” Jack wagged his finger at her making her snort and shake her head at him.

“She wouldn’t be laughing if you didn’t flop around everywhere.” Quinn snarked smirking at his younger brother making Jack groan looking at Quinn annoyed.

“You are like baby dear when on the sand.” Cole pipped in with teasing smile aimed towards Jack.

“What is this pick on Jack day?” Jack dramatically exclaimed throwing his arms up into the air as he pouted.

“That’s everyday.” Luke muttered snickering to himself.

“Okay you leave and go control your girl while you’re at it. Shoo.” Jack narrowed his eyes at his little brother hearing his comment and shooed Luke away and towards his girlfriend.

Luke rolled his eyes and just shrugged because he is happy to go to his girlfriend, he much rather be with her than anyone else so he doesn’t know what Jack is trying to accomplish.

“Jack banish you?” She questioned looking at her boyfriend amused as he plopped onto the towel next to her and laid his head on her chest and wrapping his arms over her stomach.

Luke hummed in agreement to her words but was more focused on nuzzling closer to her.

She gently rubbed shapes on his warm bare back feeling his breathing slowing down and knew he was falling asleep, which is not surprising because he will sleep anywhere especially if he gets cuddles.

She brought her hand up to his curls playing with the his ringlet curls and she watched the boys start another match and she continued to laugh at how easily Jack fell down before feeling her own eyelids getting heavy and she rested her head on top of Luke’s and closed her eyes.

The boys walked over to the two after a little while having stopped to take a break.

“I’m not even surprised.” Jack shook his head seeing the two fast sleep on the towel and cuddling together.

Quinn slowed down running as he reached the driveway of the lake house and walked into the house drinking some water, he was very surprised to hear his brothers and fiancé’s voices in the kitchen so early in the morning, because all three of them never wake up early if they don’t have to and he never normal finds anyone awake after his runs especially not all three.

Quinn leaned on the doorway watching as his lovely fiancé was cutting up fruit for breakfast with Luke helping her and the two teasing Jack together as he made some smoothies.

“Come on! You’re my sister you’re supposed to be on my side!” Jack playfully whined at his future sister and little brother.

Luke just laughed and threw an arm around his future sister looking at Jack smugly because she was teasing Jack and not him.

“Is that how it works.” She laughed teasing Jack and she did not even blink an a eye as Luke wrapped an arm around her and cuddled close to her, she has learned over the years of knowing the Hughes boys that they all are cuddlers and it makes her feel happy they all trust her enough especially Jack and Luke to be that close to her and want to cuddle with her.

“Yes!” Jack dramatically exclaimed throwing his hands up making all three of them laugh. Quinn’s laugh made the three turn to Quinn and all of them smiled seeing Quinn back from his run.

Quinn pushed off the doorway and walked into the kitchen and stopped in front of his future wife leaning down pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead and ruffled Luke’s hair as he walked by.

“Quinn be on my side!” Jack pouted hoping his older brother would be on his side.

“Sorry Jacky i’m always on my fiancé’s side.” Quinn shrugged nonchalantly grabbing a glass and letting Jack pour him some smoothie.

Jack just fondly rolled his eyes not even remotely surprised by Quinn’s words.

She patted Luke’s curly hair before moving away from Luke and right to Quinn and wrapped her arms around him and resting her chin on his chest sighing happily having missed her fiancé went he went on his morning run.

Quinn smiled softly wrapping an arm around her and pressing another gentle kiss to her forhead.

Luke had found love with a girl around the same age as him, who works with Devils media team. From the day he met her when he got to Jersey, it was easy to tell he was very whipped and they started dating a little while after his rookie season started.

Luke hadn’t been able to make it to a lot of hangouts with his friends and old teammates from Michigan meaning he has not introduced his girlfriend to any of them yet besides Dylan, Ethan and Mark.

Luke pulled into a parking spot in front of the restaurant they were meeting everyone at, he looked over at his girlfriend, his first real serious girlfriend.

“You ready?” Luke asked gently seeing her looking a little nervous.

She nodded still looking nervous making Luke reach over and gently grab her hang squeezing it reassuringly, “They will love you.” Luke softly reassured having no doubt the rest of the boys would love her, she’s easy to love.

She nodded looking less nervous and Luke and her got out of the car.

Luke’s hand naturally rested on her lower back as they walked into the restaurant and was guided to where the boys already were.

Her eyes widen slight seeing so many of his old teammates and all of them getting really loud seeing Luke and all getting up hugging him.

She stepped back letting Luke greet all of his friends.

Mark and Ethan went straight to her having got close with Luke’s girlfriend and thought of her as a good friend.

Mark pulled her into a gentle hug until Ethan was impatient and pushed Mark away to pull her into a hug rocking her like crazy making her laugh.

Luke’s head snapped up hearing his favorite sound and smiled seeing her with Ethan and Mark.

Luke walked back to his girlfriend resting his hand back on her back as he introduced her to everyone.

After he introduced his lovey girlfriend they all sat back down and the boys all began telling her many embarrassing stories about Luke, not that Luke really minded because they all made her laugh and smile.

Eventually food came out and she and Luke usual get to two different things that share between them as she doesn’t eat a lot but likes being able to eat a little bit of two things and then Luke also gets more food so it works perfectly for them.

“What the fuck.” Nick’s jaw dropped as he looked at the couple.

“What?” Luke furrowed his brows looking at Nick oddly as he munched on a French fry happily.

“You shared your food!” Nick loudly exclaimed looking extremely shocked.

“He did what?” Rutger asked in shock and looked over at the two seeing them sharing the two plates.

“Since when do you actually share food?” Tj teased Luke, remembering the many times Luke would get so mad when someone try to touch his food and would look like he was considering stabbing them with his fork.

“Ha Ha.” Luke dryly spoke rolling his eyes at his friends.

“He always shares his food?” She looked confused as shrugged not seeing the big deal, Luke has always shared with her.

“That’s because Lukey boy only shares with you.” Ethan told her smirking at the couple, he remembered being just as shocked when he noticed the first time that Luke easily shared with her.

“Oh.” She softly mumbled looking at Luke who was blushing slightly and had a bashful smile.

She gently kissed his cheek and returned eating.

Josh smirked mischievously as he reached over to Luke’s plate going to grab a french fry when Luke smacked his hand away glaring at him, “Ow!” Josh pouted holding his hand dramatically.

“I only share with her.” Luke grumbled glaring at Josh once more before turning back to his girlfriend and softening immediately seeing her happily munching on their french fries.

sun burns

prompt- Rubbing aloe on a sunburn.

She shook her head from where she was spread out on the boat lying next to Ellen as they watched the boys mess around on the boat and in the water.

She had told Jack many times through out the day to put sunscreen on knowing how easily Jack sunburns and he will complain for a long time about his sunburn, she tried to prevent that by telling him to put sunscreen on but Jack did not listen.

She could see from across the boat how his shoulders, ears and the tip of his nose already turning pink.

“That boy never listens.” Ellen shook her head noticing Jack is turning pink as well, Ellen saw how many times Jack’s lovely girlfriend tried to get Jack to put sunscreen on but he did not.

“Oh i know.” She laughed agreeing with Ellen knowing how much Jack hates listening.

Luke yawned feeling extremely tired from how many times he was on the wakeboard the past few hours and walked over to his mom and hopefully his future sister, he plopped on the seat next to her and rested his head on her shoulder.

“At least one of them listen.” She laughed telling Ellen, Luke had listened and out sunscreen on and now is obviously just tanned and not at all sunburned. Quinn half listened but didn’t put any on his face and now his cheeks and nose were turning pink.

“Barley.” Ellen laughed looking at her son and future daughter in law fondly watching as Luke began falling asleep on her.

She smiled back at Ellen before shifting her head and resting her head on top of Luke closing her eyes feeling extremely tired from being out in the sun.

Jack and Quinn finally finished messing around on the water and both got back on the boat grabbing their towels.

Quinn plopped down next to his mom smiling seeing the two passed out next to each other, “They’ve been sleeing for awhile?” Quinn asked curiously wondering where Luke had gone. Ellen nodded to Quinn’s question.

Jack smiled slightly seeing his girlfriend sleeping so cutely with Luke but then frowned wishing he could nap with her.

Jack leaned down smoothing her hair from her face and pressed a kiss to her forehead before sitting down next to her letting Quinn drive them back to the lake house.

Jack gently lifted up his girlfriend once Quinn docked the boat, he carried her up to the house and to their room, he set her down on their bed letting her continue sleeping as he headed to the bathroom to take a shower.

She yawned waking up rubbing her eyes and realized she was in their bed and knew Jack carried her to bed after she had feel asleep on the boat.

She narrowed her eyes hearing wincing coming from the bathroom and immediately knew what was happening.

“Oh Jacky baby.” She frowned in concern as she saw how sun burned Jack really had gotten from their day on the lake.

“Let me go get aloe.” She pressed a very gentle kiss to his warm cheek and walked out of their room and headed to the kitchen grabbing the bottle of aloe from the fridge.

Ellen saw her grabbing the bottle and shook her head not suprised Jack needed it.

She headed back up the stairs to their room seeing Jack sitting on their bed in just a pair of boxers.

She sat on the bed next to him and poured some aloe on her hand and very gently started rubbing it on his shoulders making him sigh in some relief.

“I’ll listen to you next time.” Jack promised as she rubbed aloe my most of his body. Jack can be stubborn but he has learned that his girlfriend is always right and just has his best interest.

“You won’t.” She smiled softly knowing Jack will always be stubborn but that’s just who he is and she loves him for it.

“Probably not,” Jack chuckled admitting it, “But you are always right.” Jack looked at her softly.

She smiled softly pressing a kiss to his burn nose.

Jack was sitting on the floor leaning his head on his girlfriend’s knees as they sat together with their friends and family around a fire.

“I’ll be right back.” She leaned down pressing a kiss to Jack’s head whispering to him softly and making Jack sit up so she could stand up.

She headed into the house and went to the kitchen grabbing a container from the fridge, that was filled of fruit Jack had cut up earlier for her.

She grabbed the container and headed back outside and shook her head fondly seeing Jack now sitting in her chair, even though when they all went to the fire to sit around it Jack said he didn’t want a chair and just wanted to sit on the floor next to her.

She walked back over to the fire gaining Jack’s attention who looked at her with a hopefully look and pout. She knew exactly what he wanted.

“Did you steal my spot because you wanted me to sit on your lap?” She asked amused, use to all the times Jack just wants her attention and touch.

Jack just grinned looking at his love with puppy eyes.

She shook her head fondly and sat down on his lap, a spot she used most often.

“Happy now my love?” She teasingly asked wrapping one of her arms around his neck fiddling with his hair as her other hand held her container.

Jack happily hummed as he nuzzled into his neck pressing a few gentle kisses on her neck as she happily ate her fruit.

Luke was keeping a very close on his future sister-in-law since Jack has been back home in Michigan.

She had gone with Jack for his surgery and helped him get settled in Michigan but unfortunately after the few days she had to come back to Jersey for work especially as she works with the Devil’s Medical team and Jack would not let her stay much longer as he knew she would be coming back very soon once the season was over and she is the main the doctor for the team and he knew the team needed her more.

Jack asked Luke to keep an eye on his fiancé for him for the two weeks they would be apart. Jack and his fiancé have not been apart for long since they met when they both joined the Devils in 2019 and got together a few months after, so Jack expected it to be very hard for both of them to apart.

Luke noticed how she seemed more withdrawn and she did not have a glow the way she did when she was around Jack, and he quickly decided he hated how sad his sister looked.

She’s been there for everything for him since the moment Jack introduced them and especially during his rookie year and being a big supporter for him, Luke just wants to be able to support her too.

So Luke asked Jack for the recipe of her favorite pasta dish that Jack makes her and when she was still at the rink he started making it for her.

She let out a long sigh as she walked into her apartment frowning not seeing the shoe rack filled with Jack’s shoes like it usually is, she tried to shake off her sad thoughts knowing she would see Jack in just a few days.

She sniffed smelling her favorite pasta getting made and frowned in confusion because only Jack has that recipe and she just got off FaceTime with him so she knows he is Michigan.

She walked into the kitchen seeing Luke cooking, “Lukey?” She questioned curiously looking at the food being made.

Luke turned around and smiled his awkward grin, “Hi! Are you hungry?” He sheepishly asked brushing a hand across his curls.

“I could eat.” She nodded smiling a little at Luke’s bashful face.

Luke smiled and plated a plate for her and set it down at the barstool and grabbed a plate for himself.

“Jack gave you the recipe.” She spoke not asking because she knew only Jack had it. Luke nodded watching as she took a bite and made a happy sound he smiled pleased.

“Thank you.” She softly spoke after they had ate in comfortable silence and were cleaning up their dishes.

“Of course.” Luke nonchalantly shrugged, she is his family he would do anything.

“You know you are a really good little brother.” She softly teased, she knew what he was doing and why he made her dinner and she greatly appreciated the kindness. Before she met Jack she was an only child and than she met the Hughes and she found a older brother from Quinn and a little brother from Luke and she would not trade them for anything in the world.

“Well i have to make sure i stay the favorite.” Luke teased back smirking in the way that makes him look so much like Jack.

“You already are.” She smiled softly, “Just don’t tell Jack.” She playfully told him making him pretend to zip his lips.

“Thank you.” She softly spoke pulling him into a gentle hug.

“Of course.” Luke very gently kissed her forehead and squeezed her back.
