I found this beautiful wrought iron gooseneck cutting blade today. It looks to be 18th century in age? My current hypothesis is that this was part of a tobacco cutter. Please feel free to comment. It's currently attached to a 20th century steel and galvanized steel footed platform. The blade appears to have two marks -- one above the pivot point (an oval area) and one near the sharpened edge about two inches from the pivot point (an arcuate band of letters?). #18thcenturywroughtiron #18thcenturytobaccocutter #antiquewroughtiron #tobaccocutter @iowacityart (at Iowa City Art & Antiques) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNJCxa2H2GH/?igshid=1g13qylwn78ss
