              It was already past midnight when Poppy opened the door to reveal Gio’s silhouette standing behind it. She had expected him hours earlier, but she wasn’t entirely surprised to see him show up so late. She had opened a bottle of wine about two hours ago and started grading papers while sipping on the glass, trying to distract her mind from the man who had occupied her every thought lately. She was already wearing a wide white shirt and her pyjama pants as she looked at him, but her lips were still spotting a faint red color from where she put on her lipstick earlier that night. Poppy stepped to the side without saying a word, letting him into her apartment. “Are you hungry? I still have leftover lasagna”, she said, avoiding the obvious elephant in the room that was her being annoyed with the fact that he was running late, and she didn’t look the way she wanted to look when greeting him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. :’) He’s.... taken, I guess? But it’s complicated, he’s polyamorous, always has been, he’s never done monogomy. He’s currently with a woman who’s his best friend, and has just had his baby. He’s also with a new girl he met a few months ago. And he’s also still grieving his great love with the girl he probably shouldn’t have ever let go.

Rebecca. She’s never once questioned why he is the way he is, she’s never faught him on it, and never pressured him to change. She’s always accepted him, and predicited him completely correct. She knows him inside and out, she’s always been there for him just the way he’s needed her to be. Like honestly he is so lucky and does not deserve to have her in his life.

Silk dresses, no underwear, girls wearing his shirts, girls who drink hard, luxury cars, cultured people, well travelled people, bikinis, a woman who knows what she wants and just how to get it.

Everyone giving up on him because he’s such a dumb shit who makes the same mistakes time and time again, and just abandons everything whenever it gets hard. There’s only a few that still care about him and don’t talk about him the way everyone else does. He prays they will never stop believing in him.

12. Biggest fantasy:

One where he’s got his shit together, had bitten the bullet and continued on his father’s business, and is being the best dad in the world. Basically, having his life together, and having Ophelia included in on it.

13. Bad habits:

Saying dumb things, being too materialistic, avoiding confrontation, running away from his problems, not taking women’s feelings seriously, being blind to insecurities.

Letting the one girl who’s ever changed anything for him, go.

That he’s so pathetically in love with Ophelia that he would literally completely change his entire life for her, he’s always said he’ll never change for anybody, that this is how he is and it’s how he always will be. But he’d change for her. He’d probably do just about anything if she asked. But she wont. And that’s why they are where they are now.

16. Last thought:

The last thing he wanted to do though, was kiss her. After all this time, all this pining and relationship PTSD he’d endured, he felt that that would be the last thing he would ever do to her again. Because if he kissed her now, he wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to let her go again.

17. Worst romantic experience:

HAHAHA, meeting Ophelia.

No but I imagine he’s made a lot of bad choices in women. Women who are over-controlling and completely neurotic, who make dating them a total hassle for him. Or women who didn’t get the hint that he’s polyamorous and get hugely offended by it. I imagine he’s hit that like once or twice, because he doesn’t like to really discuss it much, he likes to just go off of chemistry. And that’s his fault; he needs to be better with communication.

18. Biggest insecurity:

That he’ll be a bad father. He doens’t think he’ll ever be HIS father, but he really doesn’t want to be a bad one. He had a terrible relationship with his father and he never wants his daughter to go through that. He’s also insecure af that nobody in the family likes him, except for Chloe, he knows she does.

Abandonment.

20. Role Model:  

Marlene (Marlie), she’s a girl he met in Germany yEARS ago when he was living there, and they decided to move in together a couple months later. They have only ever been a brotp, and it was so nice for him to get on with a girl and not have that sexual element for once. He lived with her for about five to seven years, and she has literally opened his eyes to so much and kept him completely grounded. He found it really hard moving back to America and getting by without her. They kind of give me a Stefan & Lexi vibe, tbh.
