I usually opt out of sci-fi in non-visual mediums, but this book... Guys, THIS BOOK.

It's sci-fi. Aztec/Mexica inspired sci-fi.

Caribbean inspired sci-fi.

I am mexican. Reading this and finding out that I had been mispronouncing a couple characters' names (I tend to... englishify names) because the word xocoyotzin came out was the fucking best surprise of 2020 already.

It's great and it has amazing pacing and the characters and setting are so well put-together (except for part six, which was both way too short and way too long, but that was like 1/10th of the book length or less so it's no big deal).

I want a whole-ass movie out of this book. I need a whole-ass series. Where's the fandom??? It's not a recent book. I want in.

Just.
