Bones is overall much better at taking care of himself than Jim is. But Jim still takes care of him in little ways. A glass of Bourbon set out on the counter after a long day. Fresh coffee already in the pot on days when Bones has to get up ungodly early. And when Bones stumbles home and barely makes it the bed Jim follows behind him picking up his trail of discarded clothing bc he knows Bones hates to wake up to a mess. And sometimes when Bones is fast asleep, he places a soft kiss on his cheek

One day Jim just really doesn't feel like going to class. He expects Bones to lecturing him on the importance of attendance. And he's really not looking forward to that at all, so much that he almost drags himself out of bed in attempt to avoid it entirely. Bones takes one look at him and shoves him back on the bed and says 'i think you should stay home today kid' because Bones always just /knows/ exactly what Jim needs.

I wish i could be more helpful. my roommate and best friend used to get panic attacks a lot and so I know it must really suck.

One day Jim gets really bored and decorates his and bones' dorm room with millions of those little stick on glow in the dark stars. Bones doesn't notice until later that night when he turns off the lights and they all start to glow. For once Jim has no idea what Bones reaction is going to be, because Jim really got a bit carried away. Bones just turns to him and says "did you really copy the constellations exactly? you're such a nerd"

Nerd Jim is the best Jim.

Oh, sweet love, you're fantastic. I wish I could tell you what would be helpful but I really have no idea.
