❝ i can’t say no to you. and it’s just not fair. ❞ from steben
Toby smiled crookedly as he buttoned up his jeans. "You say that like the feeling isn't mutual, baby." He leaned over the side of the bed and kissed Stevie on the forehead before gently bumping their noses together. He smelled like sweat and fancy hotel shampoo. "It's a binding contract, you know." Toby wiggled his eyebrows. "Enforced below the waist." He bent down to the floor with a breath of laughter and tossed his boyfriend's underwear at him. "C'mon, baby, let's get some pancakes. I'm fucking starving."
do you believe in yourself?
"Sometimes, I guess. When I'm not thinking about how my lyrics suck, that I look like an idiot on stage, or how I dropped out of college to be a quote-unquote rock star, sure." He opened the door for his friend, the familiar waft of syrup and bacon grease coaxing them inside. "Actually, I take that back. If I was a unicorn, then I'd believe in myself."
What’s your favorite book/movie of all time and why did it speak to you so much?
My favorite book is The Monster at the End of This Book. I legit still have my childhood copy at my Pops’ place. And I guess it spoke to me because… Well. Grover is me, let’s be real here. Same nose.
As far as movies go though, I’m really into action-packed, gory, horror shit in general, but I think Green Room might my favorite. I mean, fuck. This plot: a punk rock band is forced to fight for survival after witnessing a murder at a neo-Nazi skinhead bar. I mean, this movie was fucking MADE for me, dude.
What was it like, growing up with two dads?
I’m not saying I had the most conventional upbringing, but it felt normal to me, you know? I didn’t feel weird on Mother’s Day and I didn’t care when I couldn’t go to mother-son dances in elementary school. I dunno. My dads love me and my sisters. I never felt I was missing out, even after they got divorced and I had to split my time between them.
Describe your best first kiss.
You know, I think my best first kiss was probably when I was 16 or 17. It was after a football game. Me and this other band kid were chilling in the parking lot, talking about graduating and shit. Flirting low-key. Everyone else had pretty much dipped already. Anyway, he was eating strawberry Pop Rocks and he asked me if I wanted some. You can kinda guess the rest.
Any plans to marry Marley after your collab?
Aside from enabling a very specific kink on a certain hub, marrying your adoptive (grand)mother probably has mad perks. I’m down. @themarleyshow
How do you feel about your sister pimping you out in the name of setting you up with someone?
I don’t love the constant promo, but I love my sister. I know her heart’s in the right place. Lucky has always wanted the best for me, even when we were little. She’s like the mom I never had, so if “pimping” me out is her way of looking out for me, then I’m gonna grin and bear it. Plus, I mean what’s the worst thing that can happen? I get doxxed? Oh wait…
