Pottery class demands focus!
Be it team-building and decision-making games during a career counselling session or blowing and bursting balloons as part of a Scavenger Hunt or just the pure unbridled joy of climbing a tree - we didn't forget to play! Many thanks to Sarwat Rattani and her team of volunteers for bringing the fun to both our camps this summer.
Students at the Khatoon-e-Pakistan Govt School during a crash course in photography by Asad Shairani
The girls of Class 9 and 10 at the SMB Fatima Jinnah Govt Girls School got a crash course in entrepreneurship thanks to @FaizaYousuf #TodayAtCamp
#TodayAtCamp we got a lesson in stenciling for positive, happy graffiti with #Karachi artist and teacher @AnamShakilKhan, whose work you may be familiar with from Karachi's walls, painted over graffiti, specially by the containers on M.T. Khan Road http://t.co/mFgWlqtnfT
Health, safety and environment consultant Naeem Sadiq gave a lively and inspirational talk to the students and graduates of the Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls School on How Citizens Can Lead Change. He had the students identify problems in their environment, such as open garbage, noise and air pollution, violent crime, etc. The students were then guided to come up with steps to solve these problems and they promised to implement their collective solutions in their homes and neighbourhoods. They also vowed to read a non-course book once a month as well as to do their bit to make their neighbourhoods and school gun-free. They will be asked to report on their progress in about a month's time!
Some of us now want to make cartoons when we grow up thanks to a great talk by animator @babrus #TodayAtCamp
