todoroki awoke to the quiet sound of gentle taps on a keyboard. humming, he shifted slightly so he was laying on his side, his arm outstretched to wrap around your waist, only you weren't next to him.
he opened his eyes a peek to find you sitting at the desk, the laptop's low glow the only light in the room. now the tapping made sense. with a small groan he sat up, rubbing his eyes.
"y/n...?"
his gruff voice startled you, having it being sudden. you looked over your shoulder at him, worried that you had woken him up. "what are you doing awake, shoto...? i hope i wasn't the reason..." your voice was absolutely exhausted. you looked tired too. what time was it...?
he shook his head. "don't worry about it... i'm more concerned about you." he frowned a little. "what time is it...?"
you hummed, checking the time. "two in the morning."
he blinked slowly. "two?" he sighed. "please... please tell me you haven't been doing that all night."
with a sheepish grin you turned back to the screen, typing again. "it needs be done."
"you're going to exhaust yourself y/n." he sighed. his eyes were still tired, a little droppy. "come back to bed... please?"
it was extremely tempting to rest in your boyfriend's arms. you almost immediately agreed- it was literal heaven. but you couldn't leave this assignment.
"i will in a bit..."
todoroki hummed. "how long is a bit?" he closed his eyes, resting them. "that essay isn't needed in for another few days, y/n..."
"but i want to complete it tonight..." you murmured. you hated to admit it, but your voice was starting to muffle.
"y/n, it isn't good for you to stay up so late..." he whispered. "please come to bed... you'll get a headache and you'll be exhausted tomorrow if you don't."
within a few hesitant moments you sighed. you saved your progress so far and turned off your laptop, shutting its lid. with a small yawn you made your way over to the bed, climbing under the warm bed covers once again.
todoroki laid back down, resting on his side to face you. he wrapped an arm around your waist, giving you a soft kiss on your forehead.
he was lovely and warm. his heartbeat was soothing, his gentle breaths making you feel even more sleepy. you closed your eyes as you relaxed in his embrace, a gentle smile on your face.
"thank you..." he whispered.
with a gentle hum you curled up into his embrace, nestling against him comfortable. he had his cool hand on your waist beneath your shirt so you didn't get too warm.
"thank you too..." as soon as that whispered of yours was murmured, you fell asleep.
he sighed, closing his eyes as he rested his chin on top of your head. he hugged you close, keeping you safe and secure. he gave you a small squeeze, a soft smile on his face as he eventually joined you in the land of dreams.
