amon finally reuniting with kaneki/haise and just smiling and telling him that he understands....and thats the turning point for kaneki because he knows that amon tried so hard, for so long to understand kaneki and what he was going through, and now he knows and he’s not alone anymore?? theres someone else who knows what its like to have your humanity ripped from you and be forced into a whole other world, not knowing which side you belong in and if its safe to have a foot on either side of the fence
and he breaks down and he remembers all of it, remembers amon giving him some sort of goal when he had nothing else to cling to, remembers amon pulling him out of his instability and keeping him from regretting even more than he already did, remembers amons strong arms and handsome face and remembers thinking about how much he wanted to kiss him
