Social Adulting
y'all it happened! I went and was social Saturday night! After my sweet post about my adorable Wild Thing my friend in town was like girl you need to get out. So she drug me out..
and y'all it wasn’t ½ bad! I’m so proud of my self lol I straight up hung out with adults and like did this whole adulting!
The night was fun & I didn’t realize how many people I knew until we were out and I had people asking me to hang out with them. It was nice but it was also like being in high school all the little clicks and drama that was out. The music was decent but it wasn’t my normal scene so I was a little out of my comfort zone. The night did end on a rather sour note…I finally go out and venture away from my daughter and I get a 36 oz beer spilt all down me. Y'all I’m talking like half my hair all of my shirt my wallet and my cardigan. All over.. The poor guy he felt so bad and I have to tell you that I felt bad later but he tried to hug me and apologize and I told him to stop touching me unless he wanted me to break his face. He was nice and danced with me later when I came back. But still that was my point - I was ready for home and my bed! I would like to note though that I made it clear to 1:30 am before I had to crawl into bed. I should also note that it took 2 redbulls! Anyways I just had to document that I went and socialized. I did the adulting thing and it wasn’t so bd. I love my Wild Child, but I also noticed in going out that I definitely let everything in my life revolve around Wild Thing. It’s not bad but I’m constantly trying to make up to her for only having one parent in her life. What I realized even more was that in doing so and not taking any time to do something with out her that didn’t include cleaning or prepping or shopping for us for the week or whatever it was affecting my parenting a little. So now I’m going to work on finding a balance for personal time that isn’t based on something for Braelynn and I and making sure that I still spend quality time with Braelynn. So here’s to Adutling! Sincerely, the Doe with a Bow
Hugs for Days!
Wild Thing she makes my heart sing. I don't go out often - well in truth I actually don't have much of a social life. I prefer my toddler when I'm not at work so it leaves little room for social or romance. Not that there's really any thing happening in the romance department anyways. Let's be real - I'm a single mom. And that means one of two things group a of guys: I'll date you but only if we can bang....pass {that's how I became a single mom in the first place right} more or less...moving on. group b of guys: I really wanna date you but I'm too scared to ask and you have a kid.... pass Anyways my wee Todzilla! Tonight {and well every night} she fights bed time.. but only kinda sorta. She loves it because we have our own sort of routine, but she hates it because she's missing out on so much {ha! if only she knew how boring it gets around here once she's gone down..} Tonight though she was especially sweet. She wouldn't hug me when I got home but she more than made up for it at bed time. After we said our prayers she stood up on her bed and said MOOOOOOMMMEEEE! i LUUU you. and threw her arms around my neck and hugged so tight then let go grabbed my face and kissed me then hugged me as tight as she could and wouldn't let go until I told her I loved her and to sleep sweet. My heart is full! and so on that note, that's how I'm choosing to end my day is full of love and hugs from my sweet Wild Child! Sincerely, the Doe with a Bow
we are so FIERCE! quite frankly there's no other way to describe us. it sums our dynamic duo up perfectly. Wild Thing loves to have her "piture" taken! And this morning on the way into daycare she asked so who was I to tell this adorable Todzilla no?! And immediately after this adorable photo sesh she goes ok "dooooown peeez!" It was the perfect attitude for her shirt that stated she's "Little Miss Independent" ain't no doubt about it, that's my girl! Happy Friday Y'all! -the Doe with a Bow
Todzilla
Let me introduce my one and only wild thing! She’s a handful! A mess! And a full on drama queen! BUT she is also the sweetest, most loving child a mother could ever dream of.
She’s so full of life, she teaches me so much everyday. She knows how to pull at my heart strings and drive me crazy all in the same action - but she also is so full of wonder which makes it so I can’t help but want to do what ever it is she’s asking, yelling, begging, or demanding for!
She’s an animal lover too - looks like she’ll be like me and bring home all sorts of strays, which I’m sure will drive me just as crazy as I did my momma. She’s so gentle and so kind with animals. She loves on our little yorkie and she is obsessed with her Yaya and Papa’s german shepherd. She will lay her head down on them and say nice doggy and then pet them and say she loves them! The yorkie doesn’t weigh near enough so she struggles with it but the shepherd eats it right up! She loves to tell me all the animals and the noises they make and she’ll even sign them too.
When I started writing this post I thought I don’t have much to say….how do you describe your child to a bunch of total stranger? But now as I think about my wild child and what I would want people I know and love to know about her I just can’t stop typing. I realized I could literally go on for virtual pages! I chose this post today because in truth I work weekends, and that means I miss some fun stuff with my little girl. It also leaves me with out any fresh stories. While I could tell you all sorts of things that have happened recently I wanted something from today that would just make your sides ache… but alas it’s a Saturday and we spent the day apart… So maybe tomorrow or Monday. We shall see… If you’re still here thanks for sticking around and hold on to your electronic device because I promise you it’ll get real interesting and real funny real quick!
I mean seriously I haven't started talking about my dating life... Happy Saturday y'all! Sincerely, the Dow with a Bow!
Hello Blogger World
I'm just gonna dive right in! I thought I would love hiding behind an avatar and a witty screen name - the truth is I stand behind what I say, what I believe, and what I think is right. So here I am typing away with still a very witty screen name but not behind a faceless avatar. I love my wild thing aka todzilla - but I do want her to have some privacy when she's older and be safe now so for her sake and safety I will still use some anonymity. Well as much as can be said with our faces in the avatar window anyway. Who knows what I will have for you but one thing I know is that parenting is hard, and doing it alone is even harder BUT its totally worth it and you get some really great laughs and stories. So hold on to your laptops, tablets, phones, ect. whatever - b/c this should be interesting! Sincerely, the doe with a bow! oh yea ps my witty screen name - I do actually shoot a bow and have hunted since I was 13 with my dad.
