#towncrests & #coatofarms are interesting what is really fascinating though is almost nobody knows what they mean Tønder's clearly involved its foundation of a fishing industry with this 'three-fished eye' and definitely wasn't the inspiration for #theSimpsons Blinky the three-eyed fish because it predates it by about 100 years and totally opposite Tonder's 'three-fished eye' was odd, but made more sense than this - an Ostrich with a horseshoe in its mouth. Ostriches aren't exactly native to Denmark, so nobody I asked in the town hall knew wtf this 'lucky Ostrich' was meant to represent
