A flavorful stir-fry of broccoli and tofu with a garlic soy sauce that is both delicious and healthful. Ideal for an easy weeknight supper!
Ingredients: 14 oz 400g extra-firm tofu, cubed. 2 cups broccoli florets. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 1 teaspoon sesame oil. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: To press out extra moisture, sandwich the tofu between two paper towels and place something heavy on top. Give it a 20-minute rest. Add the red pepper flakes if using, minced garlic, and soy sauce to a small bowl. In a skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Tofu cubes should be added to the skillet and stir-fried for five minutes, or until golden brown. Take out the tofu and place it aside in a skillet. Broccoli florets should be stir-fried in the same skillet for three to four minutes, or until they are bright green and crisp-tender. Put the tofu and broccoli back in the skillet. Cover the tofu and broccoli with the soy sauce mixture. Stir-fry for two more minutes to fully combine and warm through. After seasoning the stir-fry to taste with salt and pepper, drizzle it with sesame oil. Enjoy while hot!
