In recognition of World Toilet Day, Roundme presents this special collection of toilets around the globe. Two years ago, the United Nations General Assembly officially designated November 19 as World Toilet Day to bring awareness to human beings who do not have access to a toilet.
For people in developed countries, flushing a toilet and turning on a tap is taken for granted. But of the entire world population, 2.4 billion people do not have improved sanitation and 1 billion people still defecate in the open. Poor sanitation increases the risk of disease and malnutrition, especially for women and children.
This post is intended to share VR imagery of toilets and to advance the discussion of sanitation as a global development priority. On this World Toilet Day, speak up and demand that more is done. #Wecantwait.
