Hello!! Okay so I know you've probably gotten a billion messages about your fic, but honestly I cant not come here and spazz to you xD Ive always loved snk but I was never fully immersed into the fandom? and then a friend introduced me to The Intern and I just.... oh my god LOL its hands down one of the best fics ive ever read (and ive read a lot of kpop fanfiction! haha) and I just... UGH IT WAS SO GOOD! i sobbed so hard at some parts and then the ending was fucking perfect ;; thank you!!!!

I've gotten many a message, but I'm always thrilled when I get more! ^__^ So thank you so much for taking the time to write to me. Honestly, all of these messages make me so happy. 

And I'm so glad that you enjoyed the story! ^__^ Even with the sobbing and all, which I guess can be a good thing when the ending is happy. *hugs you tight.* Thank you! ^__^

Hey Nathalie!~ I just wanted to ask, because I've always been a huge fan of your art (and I just think youre super lovely all around hehe) but I wanted to ask you how you motivate yourself to get some art done? I love to paint/draw and what not, and art is a huge passion of mine but I fall into ruts of discouragement and no inspiration from time to time ;; I really want to break away from that so I was just wondering what you do to motivate yourself if youre ever feeling like that?? thanks!! <3

ah thank you sweetie!!!!! honestly i get in ruts just like that /all the time/ i have been pretty bad the last few weeks with telling myself i can’t draw but i figured the best thing to do is learn from the art i think is better than mine!

so #1: look at the art you are envious of/aspiring towards and try to figure out their techniques. what exactly is ‘better’ about it? try to take that aspect and practice it in small pieces until you feel you could incorporate it into your style. i do this for poses/movement/anatomy and for lighting or colouring techniques. i’m so jealous of a lot of people’s styles!

#2: if you are drawing something and you get bored, don’t force yourself to continue!! either take a short break/nap, or try out something else. if you force your work you will have a negative attitude to it and it will seem like a chore, and you might subconsciously sabotage it. (trying to get art done in a long 6hr+ sitting is often why i am not happy in the end)

#3: similarly, change your subject/fandom or even materials/style every so often. this will not only give you a challenge, it’s nice to have a change of scenery…if i feel i can’t draw realism on a certain day, i will switch to anime fanart, or do another craft for a while. maybe even bake a cake!

#4: don’t do anything! if you lose all inspiration or feel totally useless, which i do often, then take a complete break. everyone has bad days, just do your regular things. in this time i actually often watch process videos of people drawing and painting, but i don’t compare myself to them. i’ll also watch movies or tv shows and absorb the emotions and atmosphere or just zone out completely. if i find something in everyday life that inspires me, i remember it and consider it for a while, make notes, and then when i feel more confident, i will start to draw again. a lot of AU ideas appear for me this way. it could be that having a coffee outside on a rainy day is perfect to let you imagine a new artwork, instead of sitting at home shouting ‘why can’t i draw!!!!!’ i think you can also get some muscle memory from taking breaks, i have sometimes felt an improvement after not drawing for weeks~

#5: you will always want to be better, it’s the curse of being an artist. don’t put yourself down for feeling like you’re bad, it’s a natural thought. if you accept that you will always need + want to improve then you can move on. you’re learning and that should be a motivation, that you never know what you might pick up or get better at each time you work :-)

#6: find a reference image that you love and can spend time staring at easily. make sure you are prepared to do the work, don’t set a time limit and don’t tell yourself exactly how the final thing should turn out or you’ll be disappointed. start the art and change as you make decisions along the way. maybe today the colour palette you need to use is all greens. perhaps you just want to draw half the face with one hand next to it. it doesn’t matter as long as you enjoy it! take snack breaks, listen to good music and try to have fun!
