Cities in Films #103: TOKYO

TOKYO! (2008)

This anthology movie combined shorts from three directors:  SHAKING TOKYO by Bong Joon-Ho (Parasite), INTERIOR DESIGN by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and MERDE by Leos Carax (Holy Motors). I can’t find any options for streaming the whole film as one, but have hunted around, and each of the three parts can currently be viewed separately in full via the links above. I’d recommend the first two, especially since they both have a strong thematic relevance to architecture, particularly tiny-space urban living. (Photo: Shinjuku, me via instagram)
