Which means the other team MIGHT also have their own feather.
Which also means that taking the feathers MIGHT also just kill everyone on this planet.

Further confirmed: aside from the few survivors in Tokyo, literally everyone else in Japan is dead.
Possibly everyone else in the world is dead.
They don’t really specify re: the rest of the world, but for Japan at least it’s definitely the case.
But I mean, acid rain wouldn’t be limited to only a single country, so I think it’s safe to say that the rest of the world is equally devastated by all of this. Ie, humanity is hanging onto survival by the barest threat that could snap at any point. This is the Bad Ending. They’re only barely surviving the epilogue, but there’s no real hope for anyone beyond the reach of this magic water.
Tokyo is just all that’s left.
