📍Shinjuku, Tokyo One of the fun things about Tokyo is the fact that it’s so large and yet so diverse, with most areas overflowing with people who all have to make do with a tiny place to live, work and exist. That might not sound so appealing initially, but hear me out… Every area has a distinct atmosphere with different types of people walking the streets. And no matter where you go or what you do, every day there’s an opportunity to see, hear, experience, taste or do something you have never done before! You never know… people might dress up as swans and start a mock fight in the middle of shibuya crossing! (Saw that once) or two guys dressed top to bottom in shimmering gold will start interviewing people in the middle of Asakusa (had that happen) or you might accidentally wander into a local festival at a shrine and watch a puppet show, acrobatics, a monkey performing tricks or a noh play.
