desc: what else is there do to on a rainy day except stay in?
characters: haitani rindou x gn! reader (let’s say both the reader and rindou are in their early 20′s)

you sat on the couch in your apartment, watching the rain drop onto your window and the bustle of the city life below you. even on such a rainy day, cars and people were bustling around the city.
any plans you had planned for today were gone once you woke up to the pitter pattering of the rain. originally, you were going to go to the library in order to return some books and check new ones out. but you didn’t want to get the books wet, nor did you want to make the effort of dressing for the rainy weather.
rolling around in your couch, you were debating whether to bake or rearrange some furniture in your apartment, when you saw your phone light up. reaching out for it, you opened your phone with a smile as you saw a text from your boyfriend.
rinnie <3 what are you doing rn?

you then come over dummy <3
rinnie <3 omw ill stop by the convenience store to pick some stuff up
you ok stay safe
you were delighted by the fact that you wouldn’t have to spend today alone. deciding that baking and cleaning could be left for another day, you got up from the couch and went to your closet to get some spare blankets. but knowing rindou, you guys would probably only use one blanket. it didn’t hurt to be comfortable though right?
as you were cleaning some spare items from the floor, you heard the keypad on your door beep and ran to the entrance. you reached the door right as your boyfriend as closing the door behind him.
engulfing him in a hug, you looked up to him, smiling, and said, “hi rinnie~”
rindou mirrored your smile and wrapped his arms around your shoulders. he pulled you closer to his chest and placed a kiss on your forehead while whispering, “hi love. so what do you have planned today?”
“i didn’t want to do something too hard so i was planning to watch some movies, maybe do some puzzles. i have a studio ghibli one my coworker gave me a while ago.”
“that sounds good i’ll put the snacks in the kitchen and then we can start”
as rindou was organizing the snacks in the kitchen, you went to the tv to browse for some good movies.
“hey rin? how do you feel about a horror movie marathon?”
“i think horror sounds great right now.”
you browsed through the horror section and rindou came in with a box of snacks and some water. taking a seat next to you, he dropped the snacks on the table and wrapped his arms around his waist. lightly pulling you towards him, you ended up seated on his lap, with his arms around your waist and chin on your shoulder.
“let’s watch The Prodigy that sounds interesting.” rindou merely hummed into your shoulder, not caring what you guys watched, as long as he was with you.
as the movie went on, you could feel rindou tighten his arms around you during the jumpscares, and at some point during the movie you found your hands entertwined. occasionally you could hear rindou mumble to himself about the movie, which only led you to let out a small laugh at his antics.
once the movie ended, you twisted yourself so that you were facing rindou, who was in a shock at the movie’s ending.
“how was the movie?”
“never doing horror again god that was creepy…” rindou said with a grimace, and you laughed at his expression. at the sound of your laugh, his face softened and he brought you in closer for a hug.
you wrap your arms around his shoulders and weave your fingers through his hair, calming him down from the movie.
“i wanna sleep..” rindou mumbled into your hair.
laughing at rindou’s sleepy state, you brought him to a laying position on the couch, and got up to turn off the lights. once you made your way back to him, you laid down next to him, where he instantly brought you into his arms.
for a moment, it was quiet, the only sounds being the faint patter of the rain and the light breaths of you both.
“i’m glad i came over today, this is really nice” rindou murmured in his sleepy state.
“i’m glad that you came over today too i wish we had more moments like this.” you whispered back.
rindou pressed one last kiss to your neck before falling into sleep. before you could fall asleep, you took a few moments to admire the features of your boyfriend at peace.
if every rainy day could be like this… then please, rain, i hope you stay.
(a/n: AH THAT WAS SO CUTE. this was kinda of a self post bc i miss my boyfriend but he’s all the way in japan, and my roommates are gone too so i’m all alone in the apartment :(. but rindou best boy you can’t tell me otherwise <33)
