i have been listening almost non-stop to tom bem's shallows ep for the last few months. his lyrics are poignant and deep. and his voice has been my comfort blanket for these weird weeks. his music deserves more exposure, so i am writing this here as a bleak attempt of promotion.

in this day and age when i find it difficult to relate, to make a connection to any form of art, to lower my defences and be human and allow myself to feel empathy, i have made such concession to him and his music. because i relate to his angst and desperation:

we have been waiting so long for this, that we are worried we are too late for it. we let go and hope for bliss, no longer kids, we make mistakes and take the blame for it. and we are lucky to be tasting love, but just a taste and we can not get enough. 

we will show them all, we will do it all, we will take it all.

for just a moment, then we will fall.

because we are young and free.

we have been dreaming too long for this that we are worried we wont wake, we won’t wake for it. skin on skin, touch for touch and kiss for kiss. the kind of passion that you never want to miss.

because we are young and free. and there is a light inside of me.
