Bachelor Pad / Tom Bianchi (1979) featured in the March 1979 GQ magazine.
Tom Bianchi is an American writer and photographer who specializes in male nude photography and this apartment, located at 63 E. 9th Street, was featured in the book of the same name, 63 E 9th Street, published in 2019. GQ magazine maintained a strong, influential gay sensibility during the late 1960's through the early 1980's, largely driven by editor-in-chief Jack Haber (1969–1983) and art directors Harry Coulianos and Donald Sterzin. While not explicitly branded as a gay publication, this era introduced a modern, curated aesthetic often described as having a distinctly gay perspective.
