Thought you guys would like an update, since Sonic talks about you guys a lot and seems pretty connected to you all.

Sonic is currently passed out on the couch, his whole body is vibrating immensely and his quills are glowing, so... I’m not super sure what’s up, but I can only assume it was a caffeine high from the evidence I found. He’ll be okay, but he’s definitely never allowed to drink coffee again. He’s also grounded until tomorrow, so I’ll be in charge here until then.

To Tom or Maddie: Had you ever feared that the kids at school would bully Sonic? Sometimes people that are different would likely get bullied...

We do worry about how other kids may treat him at school, considering he isn’t like them in the sense of looks and speed, but we have been doing weekly check-ins with Sonic since he’s started and we haven’t gotten any complaints thus far. He’s usually nothing but smiles when we pick him up after class.

The only incident we’ve had so far was about the kid formerly on his baseball team, but he hasn’t had any complaints about the kids at school, and he’s pretty open about what happens there too. Just the other day he told us how his classmates helped him understand how watches worked, one of them even took theirs apart to help him understand. He told us that he thought they were the “best group of friends anyone could have.”

Hey Tom how many people joke about Sonic constantly breaking the speed limit?

Quite a few, actually. Anytime we go to the store and he runs through the aisles, one of the store representatives will remind him to stay at a reasonable speed. They actually set up a prop speed limit sign in the entrance to remind him about it.

Out of curiosity Tom how much trouble would one be in if they commited arson in a Cracker Barrel?

It depends on what type of arson you commit, typically. There’s intentional arson, with the aim to harm someone or destroy property, and there’s reckless arson, which is basically knowing that what you’re doing is dangerous, but you keep doing it regardless. It mainly depends on the severity of what you’ve done.

Arson will generally land you a felony, jail time, and likely a fine if it ends up hurting someone or significantly damaging property. If it was unintentional, no one was hurt, and no significant damage was done, it may be treated as a misdemeanor, but that’s not very likely. Prison sentences do range based on severity as well, as they should. Significant damage can put you in for two years, and if you end up killing someone through arson, you can end up going in for life.

So, unless you want to be sent to prison, I’d suggest not setting any Cracker Barrels on fire.

Hey Tom and Maddie, how do you feel about the fact that there are so many fans of Sonic and that they’ve written songs about him?

It’s honestly really interesting. We never expected the general public to find out about Sonic and not have much government interference. Well, aside from this one “rock” dude that comes by every now and then to check on the little guy, but word gets around fast in this day and age.

As for the songs? It’s really nice of people to do that for him. A lot of the songs people have written for him has inspired him to do a few new things, and they’ve even helped him out of some of his smaller depressive moods he’s gotten into. I know Sonic’s really happy that people like him enough to write music about him, and honestly? If he’s happy, I’m happy.

So which parent does the full name thing when Sonic does something bad?

We don’t really use his full name if he does something bad- if he does anything “bad” at all. We use it more to remind him that he’s a part of our family, regardless of what happens.

I tend to use it the most though, Maddie prefers to use nicknames.
