Christian Bale y Tom Harding en “El Caballero Oscuro: La Leyenda Renace” (The Dark Knight Rises), 2012
The soul of him reaches out for her, and his borrowed body answers, equally as wanting, equally as eager to take her in his hands and keep her. Just so.

The whole room has stopped. Crystal stands across the room from Marnie, prepared to strike her down once and for all. Frozen in time. “Holy shit,” comes a voice from the doorway. A familiar voice. A comforting voice. One that has seen her through the worst. “Did you do that?” Marnie lets out a breath of relief. “It’s about time you showed up!” Tom’s laugh rings through her, filling her up, thawing the chill Crystal’s left in her. “It sure is!” He steps through the eerie stillness of the library, dust motes preserved mid-swirl, gentle tornadoes caught in the sun spilling from stained glass windows. His fingers carefully follow an astounding streak of lightning, vibrant lilac and cobalt tied together in a surge of blinding white light. The returning spark makes him jump and he takes it as a hint to continue on to retrieve his lost princess. Marnie is no damsel in distress. She did this all on her own, five seconds from escape without any help. Marnie’s got this. Tom’s just here for moral support. “Did you know you’re all kinds of extraordinary?” he compliments her with an offer of his hand.

Marnie slides her delicate frames onto her face, expecting to suddenly see the world in a different light. All she sees is Tom, who throws a pair of aviators over his eyes. She has to admit, messy hair and dorky sweater aside, he looks good. “Let’s roll.” Marnie’s not sure what fantasy he’s recreating, but she plays along as she matches his stride, purposeful and prepared to face anything that comes their way.

He turns, languid and expectant, looks her over from top to toe. A slow, lopsided grin unfurls across his face as he takes in the seep of blood thick on her clothes, caking her skin, clotting in her hair… Marnie's jaw sets, chin lifted. “You wanted fucking conviction?” She tosses her companion the heirloom, as per request. Tom’s fingers barely curl around the wrist watch before her hand greets his, firm and sure. “Let’s go.

His white blond hair glints gold like a beacon in that fading sunlight. More accurately, it’s the colour of straw, and not so far off in aesthetics either, sticking up in all directions as it is. There’s a certain agelessness in him, despite his obvious youth, his long, skinny body engulfed in a sea of fabric from a black hoodie two sizes too large for him. Bouncing on the balls of his feet, he stuffs his hands into the pouch of his sweater. There’s something immensely awkward about him. He’s not by any means conventionally attractive. His hazel eyes, bordering on green, are slightly too big for his face, giving him an oddly startled deer in the headlights look. The full effect of his uncouth appearance makes him look as though he’s just survived a lightning strike and stumbled out of the aftermath in a daze.
