Tom Jacobi was born in 1956 in Bonn, Germany, and grew up in Washington, D.C., and in Schleswig-Holstein. After studying law he started his photographic career in 1976. In the following year, he built his starting point for his long-lasting career at the German magazine “Stern”.
In his “ Gray(s) matters” work Tom demonstrates the sublimity of nature. He spent two years photographing archaic landscapes on six continents and discovered mystic places that had been created by nature over the millennia and that nonetheless timeless.
