Whumpril day 5:

Tom Lair is worried when he overhears Susan Vandom talking about Thomas coming back into Will’s life. Will never talks to him, even when she stays the night, and Tom respects her boundaries. And he had kept an eye on her, because he does listen to Irma, and Will says…concerning things at times. Tom wonders if she realizes that what she's said would be considered…Tom doesn't tell Irma and Anna everything he sees and hears in his job. And Will says stuff like “oh, I'll tell mom the next time I see her.” She should be seeing Susan every day! And Irma had said Will was surprised that Irma and her friends had celebrated Will’s birthday.

Tom had honestly thought Thomas had died, before Susan mentioned him. Will never talk about him, and Susan avoids it, and Tom won't push. But now Thomas is back, supposedly, and it was a surprise to all of them.

Tom wonders if any of them know the word neglect.
