whatever details are coming out of the inquest into tom's death, it is important we remember that the maynard family have lost someone they love so much. it is not right to judge him by what we are hearing today. he clearly made some terrible decisions but havent we all? rip tom, always in our thoughts xx

Prior to the first delivery of the 2nd Natwest ODI between England and the West Indies at the Kia Oval--home of the Surrey County Cricket Club--both teams held a moment of silence in loving memory of Surrey cricketer and England Lion batsman Tom Maynard. Tributes were left and black armbands were worn.

Rest In Peace Tom Maynard. 23 is just too young. So much potential, and so much ahead of him, it's devastating. My thoughts go to his family, friends, everyone at Surrey and Glamorgan County Cricket Clubs and all those who know him.
