Hey I’ve been listening to Tom milsom in a bubble from old wtnv songs I like but I’m just now learning he’s not a cool dude. Can someone give me the scoop so I can be fully informed?

The last two times I purchased Almay mascara from Walmart, the tubes were empty. No mascara! I just called Walmart and received a full refund very quickly and the customer service person was very empathetic, acknowledging that when it comes to skincare or anything you put on your face, it should be taken very seriously. If only MAP (Mind Alignment Process) took peoples' traumas this seriously.

Tom Milsom’s second album ‘Organs’ from 2013

I reflected on whether I should include this on my list, considering the controversy surrounding Tom Milsom. I decided to keep it, mainly because his music has made a really big impression on me, and I have a lot of respect for him as an artist. And after reading his replies in the comment section of his apology video, I can finally say I have more respect for him as a person too.  What he did was obviously wrong. But I admire that he’s actively trying to sort it out, rather than just giving a generic apology.

But I want to make it clear, that I don’t condone the things he did.  Just wanted to get that out of the way.

Another reason I have conflicting emotions towards Tom Milsom (and his music specifically) is, that I found this album right at the beginning of my struggle with mental illness. Listening to his music back then made me feel less alone, and in his music, I heard someone who understood what I was going through. 

But now this album also fills me with a feeling of.. woe, I guess. Mostly because it reminds me of those bad times, while also reminding me of what he did..  But even then, I can’t deny that he’s an incredible artist. And I think that’s what keeps me coming back to this album. He has a way of communicating the message of the song not just through the words he uses, but through the instrumentation, arrangement and the vocals themselves. That always impressed me. And the haunting sound of the album overall is just mesmerizing. 

While writing this post I looked up the apology video to read his replies, and was happy to find out he still releases music. He’s using a different alias which I won’t give away here, since it seems like he isn’t interested in having his new album linked to the name Tom Milsom. Which I find understandable. New beginnings, and all that... But I highly recommend checking it out, if you enjoy this album :) It’s worth doing the digging to find it.
