If you're an SF fan of a certain age, you'll almost certainly have grown up on the Tom Swift Science Adventures. (*Edit* Which lives on, with the Taser, named after the Thomas A. Swift Electric Rifle.)

While I devoured many from the library, or borrowed from older cousins, sadly the only one I have in my library is this one, from the second series published in the 1960s.

'Tom Swift and His Subocean Geotron' (1969) combines two of my favourite things: SF, and the deep ocean.
