About what poems I’d love hearing you quote

Hours and hours

Making notes for my favorite things

Something about this pen reminds me of

Of the ones I wrote about the blue of your eyes

Your wit and talents are amazing by my vote

Your knowledge of them is like throwing them in a tote

Never to be seen among the eyes of anyone

How I wish to be as clever as some of these poets

Sadly, I am not, Not at first glance

You said in what seemed a vivid dream

Livid at this dream breaks my heart into a dance

A dance that is slow and sweet to a soft beat

My feet somehow never step onto yours

For, I have no skills to appeal reality

Men can be a mystery when they try to impress

I’m not the kind of woman that wears a dress

Is that okay even though I’m a mess

Not only with my thoughts

But with my emotions as well

Can you tell me for certain?

For certain that I can be myself

For certain that I don’t have to hide

Hide behind the make-up

Behind the clothes I want to feel comfortable in

But don’t as I hide behind the mask that only allows you so little in

Terrified that I’ll destroy before I create

Terrified that I’m going to be another broken toy traded for another

Writing again feels like a part of me returned

How long will that flame last before it burns out

I turned to ask this same very question

Have I been replaced as you’ve been?

Forgive me for not savoring the ink I wasted

Forgive me for what I tasted

Tasted a life without creativity

Just to live without writing from your fire

The fire of inspiration that you have yet to flick a finger

Only if my wick wasn’t wet from tears

Fears and pain cuffed my wrists in chains

My mouth muzzled

The worst part is I cursed my own heart

Now my art is sitting in the shadows

Where my trickster holds me as its prisoner

While I wait for my fate to unfold

Miles away I wait for my knight

Because on the day I placed this curse, night fell

And the spell shall not break unless he can make

Make me fall in love by unlocking these three locks that hold these chains together

Based at my heart, three keys, three locks

Do you have those three keys?
