"so much for my happy ending"
so I’m getting rid of some really old stuff - downsizing and the sort (plus I’ve been meaning to get deep-clean my stuff for at least a decade) - and I stumbled across not only longhand of old fanfics (some of them reached 90-100 pages i s2g), but i also found a bunch of drawings playing around with @tomixcomics‘s old Neopets characters.
that took me back. i remember doing a bunch of those - and there’s some that I like the idea of - just this slice-of-life being crashing into the increasingly strange observations I was making about the world around me. it’s just that a bunch of them were fan works. sometimes, they were fan works of fan works.
i found one I was very proud of at the time: his blue Pteri Proppity standing outside what was supposed to be the house from The Pet Patrol Revolution. Proppity was the resident sadboi/beatnik/hipster - well, as much as I could gather from his poetry beret.
i figured it needed an update - besides, it’d give me an excuse to revisit Tomix’s bird. only when i finished it did i realize, “oh, this is full of empty space.” so i sketched in his yellow Kyrii Gella.
...and i screwed around with the colors to make it look like a photo some high-school kid poorly developed at his weekend job over at the CVS, back when they developed photos.
oh god i feel like I’m back in 2008-09.
(variations without poorly-developed-photo filter and shadows included)
characters belong to Tomi. always.

[WP] You're excited to meet alternate "you"s from different timelines and seeing how they vary from your life. Your mistake, however, was assuming you are the default.
