People saying that Sabrina Carpenter making fun of her fan’s cheer “isn’t that big of a deal” obviously have no idea how it feels to have your culture be made fun of. Especially by someone you admire. I genuinely don’t think she was being intentionally hateful but that doesn’t negate the fact that it still hurts, which is why an apology was in order

During high school I carried worry dolls around with me a lot and it always sucked when someone would poke fun at the concept or how they looked (before they were battered of course, by the end they were falling apart LOL). I still think about some things that even teachers said about them. Doesn’t mean I think they were being really hateful, they just didn’t get it

Anyway. Apology was in fact necessary and people saying it wasn’t are annoying and the weakest link
