Part 3 of my HetaOni play through. When I was playing, I thought it said 'play the piano' not 'pretend to be'. That's one of the oldest and greatest jokes of...
Part 3 of my HetaOni play through! Please go give it a view. If you like it feel free to subscribe.
@cookies-hetaoni is the maker of this version, originally created by Tomoyoshi.
I’d appreciate some comments, especially since @crankityler edited this for me and is editing my videos now.
So big shout out to him for being amazing. <3
So, yeah. Lemme know~
I finally did it!
Part 1 of 2 so far, but I’ll definitely record more! If you like it please leave a like on the video.
Go visit @cookies-hetaoni if you wanna see more of the behind the scenes.
There’s a link to the game download itself in the video description.
Today's Japanese practise! I managed to unlock two new scenes for England in "Cancel a Format" by Tomoyoshi-- the same creator behind Hetaoni! The getting ALL the little scenes for each character takes an absolute amount of grinding through the visual novel-- skipping/replaying and hoping the RNG gods bless me with a bit of a text I haven't seen yet. But, it's good practise for casual text which you don't learn in the textbook, eg, スパルタ Sparta-- which doesn't just mean the Greek one, it's just short for "hard/tough education." I very much enjoyed the cute scene where the protagonist can go on a date with England at the art museum :3 They are secret about their relationship because the protagonist is a woman undercover as a dude, and to date in public England has to seem gay-- so she like walks away and England pulls her back and is open about their relationship-- whether or not he's publically gay or not, he just loves that person for that person and doesn't hide them away <3
(adm: So Tomoyoshi’s friend answered me and it’s okay to recreate it! Here’s the proof I did:
so, there you have it!! Once again, thanks to the anonymous who reminded me of doing this!! :D)
(adm: Regarding the last ask, about if I had asked permission to the original creator (Tomoyoshi) to recreate the game or not: I’ve searched, but found nothing about it. Her twitter’s last update was in 2011, and, in case anyone’s curious, she stopped working on it after the Tsunami incident in Japan that year and has absolutely no intention of ever working on it again. I know that last part because I ended up finding someone in deviantART who claims to be a good friend of hers, and I sent them a note asking them if they could kindly inform me if she has anything against it. That friend of hers is well aware of other english HetaOni versions and I’m pretty sure they’d have warned her about it so if she had anything against it, that would probably be stated years ago, but I asked just to be on the safe side!
I also would like to thank the anonymous who sent me that ask. It was very nice of you to worry about her and it was my mistake not having searched about that before I even began to work on it. Tomoyoshi deserves respect and recognition for all the work she did. Thank you for bringing this to light!)
Tomoyoshi
For those of you that don't keep up with Pianodream (I only just checked and I'm looking into this problem as I'm typing), from what I've heard, Tomoyoshi created a deviantart account and was attempting to get back into the game-making community when she received death-threats and harsh messages about Hetaoni. Needless to say, she's been offline for a while. From what I can see, it's been about a month or so.
No, this is not the fault of everyone, and nor should everyone be attesting to this. However, I'd like to say that if she does come back, which I hope she is, and you find her account, please do not mention Hetaoni! She's showing no signs of returning to it, and nor should she be forced to. If she wants to stop, she can stop. I feel like if she wants to move on from Hetaoni, we should let her and not continue to mention it everywhere she goes.
Actually, on a screenshot of her new game, she put in the description "Please any who know, not spam or flame about old game."
All she's asking is that she gets back into this community without harassment about what she did in the past. From what I know, she doesn't even have the files anymore to continue, and what you're asking is for her to restart the game from the beginning. I can understand why she wouldn't want to.
For anyone that's in the RPG community, you can go find her (I don't feel right linking her dA just yet, but she wasn't hard to find at all), and make her feel welcomed! I'm writing a message as we speak! But please don't pull her back into the Hetaoni phase. If she wants to get back into it, she will. But if she never touches the game again, that's fine too. Don't hold her to an old game she made years ago and never finished.
Now, if you want to mention it saying something like "I loved the Hetaoni story so I'm excited to see what you'll do next!", that's perfectly fine! But please, don't go around pushing her to continue. From what I've seen, she's a really nice person! And I AM excited to see what she'll do next! She's got a knack for story-telling! But if she's constantly pinned as "the person who stopped making Hetaoni", she won't be able to create anything worthwhile. Hell, maybe something even BETTER than Hetaoni!
I'm sorry for this long post, but I felt that I should also get this message to my fans. Tomoyoshi is the mother of this fandom and without her, we wouldn't even be discussing this. Show her the gratitude and respect she deserves.
Koishi, lying down. By tomoyoshi.
