Freedom Club: Ted, Tom Pazderka
This is a drawing of Ted Kaczynski from the Series Freedom Club. Freedom Club (FC) is a series of portraits on 12x12 inch wood panels. The panels are burned to a charcoal black first and then a portrait is drawn with a soft pencil, resulting in a ghostly, mirror like image that changes as you move around it. The name FC is derived from the genius mathematician and terrorist Ted Kaczynski's moniker he used for communiques with the outside world while he lived in a remote cabin in Montana. FC depicts other freedom attuned cabin dwellers whose actions made them (in)famous and notorious. They peer out of the darkness into which they were cast either by voluntary self-exclusion or by being outcast by society.
