liam was truthfully a hot mess. his hands were trembling, his heart racing, and his mind slipping away from him as he laid there in his hospital bed, staring straight down at his two legs. he had been silent for a long time, letting both his parents just talk to each other over either side of his bed, their voices sounding like nothing but gibberish to him in this moment, knowing that even if he tried to get their attention, it would be no use, so he didn’t bother. he looked a mess, yet neither of them seemed to notice that either, his eyes were sunken in, dark from barely sleeping the night before, his face was pale, his lips almost white, all caused by how sick to his stomach he was feeling. sure, the chemo was done, and those hard moments dealing with the after effects of it were over, but some of them still lingered, especially in anxiety filled moments like these. his head perked up at the sound of the door opening, hoping it wasn’t another nurse, but someone who could brighten his spirits at least a little bit.
