" 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚, " Daphne's voice rang out with overwhelming joy. It had been far too long since she had been in Mayfair. Motherhood was demanding, and sometimes exhausting --- but now preparing for her third, Daphne felt more confident in her ability to manage her duties as Duchess and play an active role in her children's lives. Travel, however, would soon not be easy for her and Simon. With two young children, and more siblings entering society within the year --- she was overjoyed that they had mutually agreed that Hastings house would be the wisest place for their brood at present. Going through her second pregnancy and newborn days without her family had been dreadful, and she was determined not to repeat these patters. Which was why, with an almost girlish fervour, Daphne rushed into her mother's embrace. Simon had gone ahead to the house with their children in tow, allowing her a chance to reunite without added stress before they rejoined them for supper. " Oh, I have missed you and everyone so much. Everyone's letters have been a pale imitation of having one's family at their side again. We have so much to catch up on. " ( @tondowager )
