For the first time since their introduction, Yuri is left alone with his niece, chihuahua girl, to babysit her. In a way, maybe this was overdue, considering he recently took a bullet to the shoulder in State Security’s mission to get her and the other kids rescued safe and sound. Basic quality time would probably come before acts of life-endangering heroism in any normal family.
Well, he did just do it for Yor’s sake. Or at least, he’s convinced himself that this is the case.
He stares at her in silence for a while, pondering how she can be so happy and upbeat after such a horrible experience.
She takes after Yor, in that sense. The thought forms before he can stop himself, and is immediately shoved away with a ten foot pole.
He needs to focus on something else, fast, and latches onto the next thing to cross his mind.
“What’s the big deal with that little pin you’ve been showing off like a nobel prize, anyways? I imagine it’s an accommodation, but you’re six, you can’t leverage any power with something like that at your age, it’s useless.”
